BOTH Rachel Komisarz and Robert Margalis are enjoying their time in Oklahoma City, Okla., as both have pocketed a trio of first-place checks at the Kerr-McGee Elite Pro-Am held from Dec. 15-17.<\/p>\n<p><b>Women&#39;s 200 IM<\/b><br \/>\n16-year-old Spindrift Beck, who might have one of the coolest names in the sport, topped all the veterans in the championship heat with a sub-2-minute time of 1:59.32.  Tanica Jamison snagged silver in 2:01.61, while Danielle Townsend took third in 2:03.18.<\/p>\n<p><b>Men&#39;s 200 IM<\/b><br \/>\nComing off an upset win over Brendan Hansen last night, Mark Gangloff picked up another first-place check with a 1:45.03.  Meanwhile, Adam Mania took silver in 1:45.44, while Doug Van Wie pocketed third place in 1:45.90.<\/p>\n<p><b>Women&#39;s 200 Breaststroke<\/b><br \/>\nMegan Jendrick eased in to win the 200 breast in 2:10.52 to accomplish a breast sweep after taking the 100 breast yesterday.  Spindrift Beck finished second in 2:12.24, while Micah Lawrence placed third in 2:15.29.<\/p>\n<p><b>Men&#39;s 200 Breaststroke<\/b><br \/>\nBrendan Hansen exacted some revenge on Mark Gangloff by snagging gold in 1:54.44.  That time came just .1 seconds short of breaking the meet and pool record set by <i>Swimming World Magazine&#39;s<\/i> own Dave Denniston in 2002.  Gangloff turned in a second-place time of 1:56.86, while 17-year-old John Criste rounded out the top three in 1:58.03.<\/p>\n<p><b>Women&#39;s 100 Backstroke<\/b><br \/>\nTanica Jamison easily won the 100 back in 55-flat to hold off a pair of 16-year-olds for gold.  Meghan Dwyer took second in 56.46, while Cassie Cunningham finished third in 56.77.<\/p>\n<p><b>Men&#39;s 100 Backstroke<\/b><br \/>\nDoug Van Wie powered to a win in the 100 back by touching in 46.30.  Meanwhile, Adam Mania finished second in 47.22, while David Cromwell placed third in 47.46.<\/p>\n<p><b>Women&#39;s 500 Freestyle<\/b><br \/>\nRachel Komisarz continued to cash first-place checks, this time with her third title of the meet in 4:42.83.  Sachiko Yamada garnered silver in 4:46.46, while Micah Lawrence took third in 4:48.57.<\/p>\n<p><b>Men&#39;s 500 Freestyle<\/b><br \/>\nRobert Margalis also pocketed his third first-place prize by clocking a 4:17.02 in the middle-distance event.  Sergiy Fesenko, a student coach at Indiana University, came in second in 4:19.44, while Jayme Cramer placed third in 4:24.81.<\/p>\n<p>Margalis broke a meet and pool record of 4:17.36 previously set by Josh Davis in 1998.<\/p>\n<p><b>50 Freestyle Shoot-Outs<\/b><br \/>\nIn the tournament-style 50 freestyle shoot-outs, 16-year-old hometown swimmer Samantha Woodward knocked off Betsy Webb for the women&#39;s title, while Neil Walker edged Camilo Becerra by .01 seconds to win the men&#39;s crown.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Jason Marsteller OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma, December 16.
