THE distance specialists took to the water on the first day of the Kerr-McGee Elite Pro-Am meet held in Oklahoma City, Okla., from Dec. 14- 17.  Rachel Komisarz and Robert Margalis took home the 1000 freestyles, while SMU swept the relay titles.<\/p>\n<p><b>Women&#39;s 200 Medley Relay<\/b><br \/>\nSMU&#39;s team of Leane Darling, Jenny Basel, Devon Callaghan and Jennifer Blackman won the 200 medley in 1:46.58, while Wichita&#39;s squad of Abigail Mahoney, Stephanie Payne, Lisa Lunkenheimer and Meredith Matthies took second in 1:47.87. <\/p>\n<p><b>Men&#39;s 200 Medley Relay<\/b><br \/>\nSMU picked up a sprint medley sweep as the men&#39;s foursome of Ian Clark, Grega Plevelj, Justin Smith and Shane Milu won in 1:31.62.  Nova&#39;s quartet of Tom Shields, John Criste, Donny Utomo and Brian Ho placed second in 1:34.33.<\/p>\n<p><b>Women&#39;s 1000 Freestyle<\/b><br \/>\nRachel Komisarz grabbed gold in the distance free by clocking a 9:40.54.  Sachiko Yamada touched in 9:42.28 for second place, while Micah Martindale finished third in 9:50.66.<\/p>\n<p><b>Men&#39;s 1000 Freestyle<\/b><br \/>\nRobert Margalis won the men&#39;s distance event in 8:46.77 to down Fran Crippen&#39;s second-place effort of 8:52.12.  Indiana University student coach Sergiy Fesenko rounded out the top three in 8:54.17.<\/p>\n<p><b>Women&#39;s 800 Freestyle Relay<\/b><br \/>\nSMU kept the relay roll going as the contingent of Celina Lemmen, Jennifer Blackman, Katie Roberts and Tiffany Sammis won the 800 free relay in 7:25.59.  Mission Viejo&#39;s team of Sachiko Yamada, Micha Burden, Meghan Dwyer and Alison Godbe placed second in 7:32.66.<\/p>\n<p><b>Men&#39;s 800 Freestyle Relay<\/b><br \/>\nSMU completed the first-day relay sweep when Maverick Smalley, Justin Smith, Nate Clark and Shane Milu hit the wall in 6:43.21 in the 800 free relay.
