THE University of Nevada( 15-0) swimming and diving team won eight of 16 events on Saturday to defeat Idaho (8-6) 136-123 at Lombardi Pool in Reno, Nev. With the victory, the Wolf Pack are now 15-0 on the season heading into Christmas Break.  The Vandals fell to 8-6 on the year.  The Pack swept the two duals over the weekend with UI after winning 113-84 on Friday evening.<\/p>\n<p>Nevada started the meet taking the top two spots in the 200-yard medley relay to go in front 15-2 and never trailed in winning the dual.  The &quot;A&quot; team of Li Bei, Mallory Welker, Margaret Doolittle, and JayDee Huppert won the event in a time of 1:50.32.  The &quot;B&quot; team of Larissa Cadag, Sarah Shields, Kaitlyn Whiteside, and Julianne Fritcher placed second in a time of 1:52.07.<\/p>\n<p>Doolittle and Bobbie Lee Reese were double winners for the Pack on Saturday.  Doolittle won the 100 and 200-yard butterfly events.  Reese was victorious in the 50 and 500-yard freestyle.<\/p>\n<p>Stephanie Braun swam to a first place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:01.45.  Bei won the 100-yard freestyle and took third in the 50-yard freestyle.  Daniel Maddock was also a winner on Saturday in the 200-yard freestyle and placed second in the 100-yard freestyle.<\/p>\n<p>Miranda Moore (200-yard freestyle), Fritcher (100-yard backstroke), Welker (200-yard breaststroke), and Michaela Schmidt (200-yard backstroke) all swam to second place finishes in the dual.<\/p>\n<p>Cadag picked up a pair of third place finishes in the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard backstroke.  Lisa Schmidt swam to a third place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke and Nonie Wainwright was third in the 100-yard freestyle.  Kaitlyn Whiteside was the 18th Pack swimmer to earn a top three individual finish on the day taking third in the 200-yard backstroke.<\/p>\n<p>Having already secured victory Pack head coach Mike Shrader chose to exhibition his swimmers in the final two events.<\/p>\n<p>Nevada will not compete again until Jan. 2 when they dual Illinois during its winter training trip to Boca Raton, Fla.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reno, Nevada, December 10.
