Konrad Czerniak put up a world-best time in the men’s 100-meter fly to lead the way today at the Spanish Open Spring Championships in Malaga.<\/p>\n

Czerniak vaulted to the top of the world rankings in the men’s 100-meter fly with a sizzling 51.37. That swim beat the 51.64 set by Jack Conger at the Austin stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series, and is not far off Czerniak’s Polish record of 51.15 from 2011.<\/p>\n

Yauhen Tsurkin finished second tonight in 52.20 to take fifth in the world rankings, while Jose Canizares placed third overall in 53.13.<\/p>\n

Miguel Ortiz unleashed a sizzling 24.86 in the men’s 50-meter back, moving to second in the world behind Camille Lacourt’s 24.85 from the Marseilles stop of the Golden Tour. \u00a0They are the only two swimmers to have cleared 25 seconds so far this year.<\/p>\n

Juan Miguel Galvez took second in 25.08 to move to third in the world rankings, while Juan Segura Gutierrez claimed third overall in 25.33 for eighth in the rankings.<\/p>\n

Mireia Belmonte Garcia raced her way to a 4:36.14 in the women’s 400-meter IM. \u00a0That swim pushed her to second in the world rankings behind only Aimee Wilmott’s 4:35.74 from the Speedo Flanders Cup.<\/p>\n

Beatriz Gomez took second in 4:40.65 with Maria Vilas Vidal placing third in 4:41.02.<\/p>\n

Marc Sanchez Torrens put up a 4:16.61 to win the men’s 400-meter IM. \u00a0That swim jumped him to seventh in the world rankings. \u00a0Alexis Santos took second in 4:17.28 to take 10th in the ranking as well. \u00a0Alejandro Casanovas wound up third in 4:20.29.<\/p>\n

Elena Di Liddo took home the women’s 100-meter fly title in 58.96 with Svenja Stoffel placing second in 59.27. \u00a0Judit Ignacio Sorribes snared third in 59.44.<\/p>\n

Mercedes Peris Minguet put up a time of 28.52 to win the women’s 50-meter back. \u00a0Laura Yus Fernandez touched second in 29.04 with Marce Duane Da Rocha earning third in 29.16.<\/p>\n

Melani Costa Schmid took down the women’s 200-meter free in 1:58.01, while Alice Mizzau snared second in 1:58.52. \u00a0Chiara Masini Luccetti took third in 1:58.82.<\/p>\n

Victor Manuel Martin won the men’s 200-meter free in 1:49.01. \u00a0Miguel Duran (1:49.27) and Albert Garrich (1:49.30) took second and third.<\/p>\n
