Reese, meanwhile, has coached the Texas Longhorns since 1978.<\/p>\n<p><strong>All Time NCAA Division I Men&#8217;s Winning Head Coaches<\/strong><\/p>\n[table \u201c\u201d not found \/]<br \/>\n\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 1650 free<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Georgia&#8217;s Matias Koski won the men&#8217;s 1650-yard freestyle with a superior final 500 yards at the NCAA Division I Men&#8217;s Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Koski, who trailed Michigan freshman PJ Ransford by about half a pool with 500 yards to go, turned on the jets to win the event in 14:32.38. \u00a0That&#8217;s the fifth victory for Georgia in the event&#8217;s history.<\/p>\n<p>Other Georgia wins:<\/p>\n<p><strong>2006<\/strong> Sebastien Rouault, Georgia, 14:29.43<br \/>\n<strong>2008<\/strong> Sebastien Rouault, Georgia, 14:26.86<br \/>\n<strong>2009<\/strong> Troyden Prinsloo, Georgia, 14:30.91<br \/>\n<strong>2012<\/strong> Martin Grodzki, Georgia, 14:24.08<\/p>\n<p>With the Georgia women putting up the top team finish ever without winning an individual or relay last week with a second-place effort behind California, Georgia&#8217;s 20-year streak of winning a title in either the men&#8217;s or women&#8217;s event was in jeopardy after two days without a Georgia win.<\/p>\n<p>Koski kept that streak in tact.<\/p>\n<p>Ransford, meanwhile, went out with the 10th-fastest 1000-yard free of all time with an 8:46.40 before settling for second overall in 14:34.36. \u00a0That&#8217;s a 12-second drop for the rookie.<\/p>\n<p>Northwestern&#8217;s Jordan Wilimovsky placed third overall with a Yale                                2<\/pre>\n<p><strong>Platform diving<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Purdue&#8217;s Steele Johnson became the first man since 2009 to win the platform and a springboard event in the same year at the NCAA Division I Men&#8217;s Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson collected 532.70 points to add to his win in the one-meter on day one. \u00a0He joins fellow Boilermaker David Boudia, who won the three-meter and platform events in 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Indiana&#8217;s James Conner, an Australian Olympian, took second overall with 514.80 points, while Minnesota&#8217;s Matt Barnard claimed third overall with 473.80 points. NCAA Division I Men&#8217;s Championships.<\/p>\n<p>USC&#8217;s Cristian Quintero, Santo Condorelli, Ralf Tribuntsov and Dylan Carter put up a time of 2:47.06 for the victory. \u00a0Meanwhile, NC State&#8217;s Ryan Held, Simonas Bilis, Soeren Dahl and David Williams took second in 2:47.14.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s just a .08 second difference, but doesn&#8217;t break the NCAA record for the closest 400-yard free relay in men&#8217;s NCAA history.<\/p>\n<p>Texas downed Auburn in 1981 by just .03 seconds, 2:54.84 to 2:54.87.<\/p>\n<p>California&#8217;s Tyler Messerschmidt, Seth Stubblefield, Fabio Gimondi and Ryan Murphy earned third overall in 2:48.15.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s USC&#8217;s ninth victory in the 400-yard free relay.<\/p>\n<p>Other
