SIOUX FALLS, South Dakota, December 6. LINDSEY Kline of Nebraska-Omaha, Sarah Wollenhaupt & Rodrigo Ferreira of North Dakota and Matt Verwey of St. Cloud State have been named the NCC Swimmers of the Week while Jill Smolczyk of South Dakota and Nate Jimerson of St. Cloud State have been honored as the NCC Divers of the Week.<\/p>\n
Kline, a sophomore from Omaha, Neb., won four individuals titles and was a member of the winning 800 freestyle relay team at the Mutual of Omaha Invitational. Kline won the 200 freestyle (1:54.29), 500 freestyle (5:13.78), 1000 freestyle (10:47.89) and 1650 freestyle (18:03.82). Her times in the 200 and 1000 are the fastest in the NCC this season and "B" cut qualifiers for the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships while her times in the 500 and 1650 are the second fastest in the NCC this season.<\/p>\n
Wollenhaupt, a senior from Chaska, Minn., posted a pair of \u2018B-cut' times at the Eastern Michigan Invitational. She placed fifth in the 200 individual medley in 2:09.81 and second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:05.75.<\/p>\n
Ferriera, a senior from Juiz de Fora, MG, Brazil, had an \u2018A-cut' and a \u2018B-cut' individual performances to help North Dakota to a second-place showing at the Division I-dominated Eastern Michigan Invitational. His \u2018A-cut' time were winning performance in the 200 breaststroke (1:49.72) and his \u2018B-cut' came in a third-place 50 freestyle time of :20.95. He was also a member of the 200 freestyle relay, 200 medley relay and 200 backstroke squads that posted winning \u2018A-cut' times.<\/p>\n
Verwey, a freshman from Red Deer, Alberta, helped boost the Huskies to a team first place finish (856 points) at the TRY\/College Swimming.com Classic in Kenosh, Wisc. with a first-place finish in the 400 individual medley (4:06.80) and a fourth- place finish in the 100 backstroke (53.78) on Saturday. Friday, Verwey charted first-place honors in the 200 individual medley (1:56.26) and a third-place finish in the 200 backstroke (1:56.38). Of note, Verwey's 400 IM time and 200 IM time qualify him for NCAA Division II \u2018B-cut' standards and the 400 individual medley time set a new SCSU record and is the fastest time in the NCC this season.<\/p>\n
Smolczyk, a junior from Omaha, Neb., set a new school record en route to winning the 3-meter diving title at the Mutual of Omaha Invitational with an automatic qualifying score and top score in the NCC this season of 288.00. She also finished second in the 1-meter competition with a score of 233.40.<\/p>\n
Rhoades, a freshman from Fort Lupton, Colo., set a new school record and qualified for national with a score of 308.50 on the one-meter board in duals with Colorado College and McMurry. The score is also the top performance in NCC competition this season.<\/p>\n
Jimerson, a sophomore from Apple Valley, Minn., won the three-meter with a score of 463.45 and finished second on the one-meter with a score of 385.8 at the Husky Diving Invitational.
