The top three finished within seven seconds of each other as Sean Ryan placed second in 1:33:24.77, while Chip Peterson was third with a 1:33:27.46. All three are expected to attend next month\u2019s open water nationals with the hope of qualifying for world championships, where selection to the Olympic Games is on the line.<\/p>\n<p>Stephanie Peacock, making the transition to open water swimming after winning an NCAA title in the 1650 freestyle while attending the University of North Carolina, won the women\u2019s event in 1:43.23.64. Tristan Baxter, in her first year as a postgraduate swimmer after a great four years at Arizona State, placed second with a 1:43:30.80. Japan\u2019s Yumi Kida took third with a time of 1:43:32.49. <\/p>\n<p>Meyer and Peacock each win $4,500 for their victories. Ryan and Baxter each were awarded $3,500, while third-place finishers Peterson and Kida earned $1,500. Fourth-place swimmers won $1,000, while the fifth-place finishers received $500. Also new to the event was a bonus awarded to the leaders at the end of each lap.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/results\/2015-crippen-10k\/open-water\/2015\/March\/28\">2015 Crippen 10K
