The final day of prelims at the NCAA Division I Men’s Championships will be a mix between fabulous individual efforts and the coronation of Texas as the 2015 champions. \u00a0Hit refresh for the latest coverage.<\/p>\n

Texas’ historic men\u2019s 100-yard fly<\/a>, along with an amazing rest of the day<\/a>, pushed the Longhorns out to a gigantic day two lead at the NCAA Division I Men\u2019s Championships as Eddie Reese\u2019s 11th career coaching title is likely a lock<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Texas finished the day with 399 points after claiming an NCAA record 92 points in the 100-yard fly with a historic top-four sweep.<\/p>\n

The Longhorns certainly have a shot to crack into the top five point tallies of all time:<\/p>\n

And, barring a load of disqualifications tonight, Texas did what it had to do to secure Reese’s 11th career title with seven\u00a0A finalists and two B finalists for nine\u00a0scoring spots. \u00a0California, meanwhile, had a\u00a0top day with six A finals and three B finals for nine total.<\/p>\n

Men’s 200 back<\/strong><\/p>\n
California’s Ryan Murphy put himself in position to defend his 200-yard back title with the top seed in the morning at the NCAA Division I Men’s Championships.<\/p>\n
Murphy clocked a time of 1:38.65, more than a second off his second-ranked lifetime\u00a0best of 1:37.35 from his win last night.<\/p>\n
This evening, Murphy will be looking to not only defend his title, but also both take down his NCAA record 1:37.35 but also potentially get after Ryan Lochte’s American record of 1:36.81.<\/p>\n
Murphy’s teammate Jacob Pebley qualified seventh overall in 1:39.87 to give the Bears two A finalists.<\/p>\n
Tennessee’s Sean Lehane raced his way to the second seed in 1:38.76 and is looking to become UT’s first 200 back champion since Tripp Schwenk in 1993.<\/p>\n
NC State’s Hennessey Stuart snared the third seed in 1:39.60 with Stanford’s David Nolan posting a fourth-seeded 1:39.66.<\/p>\n

Men’s 100 free<\/strong><\/p>\n
NC State’s Simonas Bilis chased down the top seed with a time of 42.18 in the 100-yard free at the NCAA Division I Men’s Championships.<\/p>\n
Bilis is looking to join Cullen Jones (50 free – 2006) as recent Wolfpack sprint freestyle NCAA titlists.<\/p>\n
Alabama’s Kristian Gkolomeev, who won the 50-yard free last year by tying Arizona’s Brad Tandy, qualified second this morning in 42.23.<\/p>\n
Southern California’s Cristian Quintero, the 200-yard free victor last night, qualified third in 42.26 with Michigan’s Bruno Ortiz tying that time to share a piece of the third seed as well.<\/p>\n
Texas’ John Murray earned the fifth seed with a 42.27 as the Longhorns continued to pile on points.<\/p>\n

Men’s 200 breast<\/strong><\/p>\n
After prelims of the men’s 200-yard breaststroke, just three men have cleared 1:51 in the history of the stroke. \u00a0All three will swim in finals at the NCAA Division I Men’s Championships.<\/p>\n
Texas’ Will Licon, who upset American-record holder Chase Kalisz in the 400-yard IM last night<\/a>, clocked a scorching 1:49.54 to lead qualifying this morning.<\/p>\n
That swim put him second all time behind American and NCAA record holder Kevin Cordes’ 1:48.66 from last year. \u00a0Overall, Licon’s time is the fourth-fastest ever behind a trio of Cordes times.<\/p>\n
Cordes, meanwhile, qualified second this morning in 1:50.02, his seventh time in the 1:50 range.<\/p>\n
California’s Chuck Katis clocked in with a 1:50.71 this morning to move to third all time in the event’s history.<\/p>\n

Michigan’s Dylan Bosch could defend his 200-yard fly title tonight at the NCAA Division I Men’s Championships.<\/p>\n
Bosch turned in a time of 1:40.15, which is less than a second off his NCAA record time of 1:39.33<\/a> to win the event last year.<\/p>\n
Texas’ Jack Conger, who set the American record with a 1:39.31 at a time trial at Big 12s last month<\/a>, qualified second this morning in 1:40.97. His time did not qualify as an NCAA record since it occurred in a time trial.<\/p>\n
Texas wound up with three A finalists in the event as Joseph Schooling (1:41.14) and Clark Smith (1:41.59) qualified third and fourth as well.<\/p>\n

Men’s 400 free relay<\/strong><\/p>\n
Southern California is looking to add to the 800 free relay win with a 400 free relay victory after earning the top seed this morning at the NCAA Division I Men’s Championships.<\/p>\n
USC’s Cristian Quintero, Santo Condorelli, Ralf Tribuntsov and Dylan Carter claimed the top time in 2:48.24. \u00a0USC is looking for its ninth victory in the 400-yard free relay’s history at NCAAs.<\/p>\n
California’s Tyler Messerschmidt, Ryan Murphy, Fabio Gimondi and Seth Stubblefield turned in a second-seeded time of 2:48.28, while NC State’s Ryan Held, David Williams, Soeren Dahl and Simonas Bilis captured the third seed in 2:49.18.<\/p>\n
Texas’ Brett Ringgold, John Murray, Matt Ellis and Kip Darmody also made the A final with a seventh-seeded 2:50.96 as the Longhorns secured Eddie Reese’s 11th career coaching title with a solid morning of swimming.<\/p>\n

Steele Johnson, the one-meter victor, led a Purdue trio into the championship final of the platform at the NCAA Division I Men’s Championships.<\/p>\n
Johnson collected 530.70 points, while Sean Mokhtari (397.65) and Jamie Bissett (396.10) qualified fifth and sixth.<\/p>\n
Indiana’s James Connor turned in a second-place 468.90, while Arizona’s Rafael Quintero snared third with 451.60 points.<\/p>\n
