DURING the third day of action at the International Paralympics Committee Swimming World Championships, hosted by Disability Sport South Africa in Durban, nine world records fell (two twice) on Dec. 4.  USA&#39;s Jessica Long pushed her total to four world records (one she broke twice) after shattering the 200 IM SM8 standard.  Overall, 31 world records have fallen over the first three days of swimming.  <\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Wang Xiaofu of China and Matt Cowdrey of Australia also entered the ranks of swimmers that have broken multiple word records at the meet.  After eclipsing the 100 free S8 record on the first day of competition, Wang came back to break the 200 IM SM8 twice today. He also broke the 100 fly S8 during the second day of swimming to bring his event total up to three. <\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Cowdrey broke the 100 free S9 standard and helped surpass the 400 medley relay 34 point record after taking down the 100 fly S9 record on the first day to finish the third day with three global standards.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the world records that fell during the third day of competition:<\/p>\n<p>Men&#39;s 100 Freestyle S9<br \/>\nMatt Cowdrey, Australia \u2013 56.67<\/p>\n<p>Men&#39;s 100 Freestyle S10<br \/>\nAndre Esteves, Brazil \u2013 52.61<\/p>\n<p>Men&#39;s 100 Breast SB6<br \/>\nGareth Duke, Great Britain \u2013 1:27.04<\/p>\n<p>Men&#39;s 100 Breast SB7<br \/>\nSascha Kindred, Great Britain \u2013 1:22.77<\/p>\n<p>Women&#39;s 100 Breast SB6<br \/>\nElizabeth Johnson, Great Britain \u2013 1:40.83<\/p>\n<p>Men&#39;s 200 IM SM8<br \/>\nWang Xiaofu, China \u2013 2:25.74<br \/>\nWang Xiaofu, China \u2013 2:26.24 &#8211; p<\/p>\n<p>Women&#39;s 200 IM SM8<br \/>\nJessica Long, USA \u2013 2:43.60<br \/>\nJessica Long, USA \u2013 2:47.46 &#8211; p<\/p>\n<p>Men&#39;s 200 Freestyle Relay 20 Points<br \/>\nSpain \u2013 2:21.89<br \/>\nRichard Orive, Jordi Gordillo, Daniel Vidal, Sebastian Rodriguez<\/p>\n<p>Men&#39;s 400 Medley Relay 34 Points<br \/>\nAustralia \u2013 4:22.09<br \/>\nMatt Cowdrey, Daniel Bell, Peter Leek, Ben Austin<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DURBAN, South Africa, December 5.
