Waves Bloomington&#8217;s Grace Ariola moved up one spot to finish in the runner up spot at 2:11.44, while SwimMAC Carolina&#8217;s Rebecca Postoll finished third in 2:15.35.<\/p>\n<p>Firestone Akron&#8217;s Michael Reilman shot down his own meet record in the men&#8217;s 200 back final, lowering his 2:00.71 from prelims to 1:59.90. Indiana University&#8217;s Ryan Gordon finished four seconds back in 2:03.90, just ahead of SwimMAC Carolina&#8217;s Nathaniel Murray (2:04.00).<\/p>\n<p>North Baltimore&#8217;s Mary Pelton cruised to victory in the women&#8217;s 50 free final with a 25.88, sprinting away from Purdue&#8217;s Kylie Vogel (26.27) and SwimMAC Carolina&#8217;s Alyssa Marsh (26.46) after the three swimmers all posted matching 26.32s this morning in a three-way tie for the top seed.<\/p>\n<p>Aqua Swim Club&#8217;s Nimrod Shapira Bar-Or got to the wall first in the men&#8217;s 50 free final with a 23.32, slightly better than Lake Shore&#8217;s Trevor Lake, who came in at 23.50. New Trier&#8217;s Jonathan Grodecki touched third in 23.63.<\/p>\n<p>Livonia Community&#8217;s Miranda Tucker posted a commanding win in the women&#8217;s 200 breast final, finishing well under 2:30 with a 2:27.82 and lowering her own meet record of 2:29.55 from prelims. She was the only swimmer to finish under 2:30, as Newburgh Sea Creatures&#8217; Lillia King touched second at 2:30.12 and North Baltimore&#8217;s Lara Bate came in third at 2:34.95.<\/p>\n<p>Indiana University&#8217;s Marijn Van Zundert moved up three spots and dropped more than a second and a half in the men&#8217;s 200 breast final, clocking a 2:19.24 in finals. Aqua Swim Club&#8217;s Devon Nowicki held onto his second seed and finished right behind in 2:19.29, while Connecticut&#8217;s Timothy Lattimer swam a 2:20.57 for third.<\/p>\n<p>SwimMAC Carolina crushed the meet record in the women&#8217;s 800 free relay to close out the night, as Nora McCullagh, Kathleen Baker, Rebecca Postoll and Erika Brown clocked an 8:12.93 to take more than five seconds off Ohio State&#8217;s 2013 record of 8:18.48. North Baltimore&#8217;s Selah Peacock, Mary Pelton, Madison Runge and Easop Lee were also under the old record by a significant chunk, touching in 8:15.08. Waves Bloomington rounded out the top three with Grace Ariola, Melissa Pish, Hannah Boyd and Mackenzie Arens touching at 8:22.78.<\/p>\n<p>Timed finals of the distance freestyle events were also held in this morning&#8217;s prelims, with Waves Bloomington&#8217;s Melissa Pish topping the women&#8217;s 800 free in 8:49.03. Hopkins Mariner&#8217;s Erin Earley touched second in 8:54.59, followed by North Baltimore&#8217;s Madison Runge in 8:55.60.<\/p>\n<p>Penguin Aquatics&#8217; Jared Graham dominated the men&#8217;s 1500 free, winning by more than 20 seconds with a 15:51.73. Christian Gronbeck (16:12.47) and North Baltimore&#8217;s William Cadigan (16:16.53) rounded out the top three.<\/p>\n<p>SwimMAC Carolina leads the combined team standings after day one with 438 points. North Baltimore is in second with 324 points, followed by Fishers Area Swimming Tigers with 178 points.<\/p>\n<p><a
