For full Swimming World coverage, check out our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/2015-ncaa-mens-di-swimming-and-diving-championships\/\/\">coverage page<\/a>.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The 2015 NCAA Division I Men&#8217;s Championships kicks off today with <a title=\"Tight Race for Team Title Expected at Men\u2019s NCAA Championships\" href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/tight-race-for-team-title-expected-at-mens-ncaa-championships\/\" target=\"_blank\">at least five teams in the hunt<\/a> for the team title. <em>Swimming World<\/em> will be on top of all the news coming out of Iowa City. \u00a0Hit refresh for the latest coverage.<\/p>\n<p>Following Diving,\u00a0California and Florida had the strongest mornings. Texas kept itself on pace to win <a title=\"11th Men\u2019s NCAA Championship Within Historic Reach For Coach Eddie Reese\" href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/11th-mens-ncaa-championship-within-historic-reach-for-coach-eddie-reese\/\" target=\"_blank\">Eddie Reese&#8217;s 11th career coaching title<\/a> with seven A finals and two B finals. California and Florida, meanwhile, each claimed five A finals and three B finals.<\/p>\n<p>Georgia also has seven final swims with two A finals and five B finals.<\/p>\n<p>Michigan and NC State each claimed six point-scoring swims with Michigan qualifying six A finalists, and NC State gaining three A finals and three B finals. Southern California also has six spots tonight with three A finals and three B finals.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Total A\/B Finalists (The top 16 swimmers all score points for their teams):<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n[table \u201c\u201d not found \/]<br \/>\n\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 200 free relay<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The top seed in the men&#8217;s 200-yard free relay, N.C. State, which came into the meet with a top time of 1:15.62, originally picked up a relay exchange violation disqualification in what was\u00a0the biggest stunner of the morning.<\/p>\n<p>N.C. State had\u00a0started to make it a bit of a habit with some huge relay disqualifications. \u00a0In 2013, N.C. State lost its 800-yard free relay at the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships after a swimmer jumped into the water to congratulate anchor David Williams for a win against Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>Then, at the 2014 NCAA Division I Men&#8217;s Championships, N.C. State drew a preliminary disqualification in this same event, the 200-yard free relay, for an early takeoff as well.<\/p>\n<p>However, the NCAA rules committee later decided to overturn the disqualification that had already undergone review with Simonas Bilis, Ryan Held, Andreas Schiellerup and David Williams regaining their 1:15.79 for the top spot. \u00a0That bumped Stanford out of the top eight and Indiana out of the top 16.<\/p>\n<p>NC State head coach <a title=\"N.C. appeal process<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Southern California&#8217;s Santo Condorelli, Dylan Carter, Ralf Tribuntsov and Cristian Quintero put up the second-fastest\u00a0time of the morning with a 1:15.85.<\/p>\n<p>Texas&#8217; Matt Ellis, John Murray, Jack Conger and Kip Darmody also cleared 1:16 with a third-seeded 1:15.91.<\/p>\n<p>Auburn&#8217;s Jacob Molacek, Arthur Mendes, Michael Duderstadt and Kyle Darmody clocked a fourth-seeded 1:16.35.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Florida&#8217;s Caeleb Dressel downed the 17-18 U.S. National Age Group record in the 50-yard free as Florida&#8217;s free<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Texas had a huge 500-yard free effort this morning, claiming three A final spots in the finals tonight.<\/p>\n<p>Clark Smith, out under American record pace at the 200 with a 1:37.56, took the top seed in 4:11.17. \u00a0Teammate Sam Lewis snared the second seed with a 4:12.44, while Jonathan Roberts claimed the sixth seed with a 4:13.10.<\/p>\n<p>For a team with as deep of a history as the Longhorns have, it surprisingly has never won the 500-yard free at the NCAA Division I Men&#8217;s Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Florida&#8217;s Dan Wallace qualified third overall with a 10th in the all time rankings to sixth as he became just the sixth swimmer to ever clear 1:41. Licon was out under American-record pace at the 150 with a 1:15.71, but couldn&#8217;t keep up the pace to challenge <a title=\"Full Race Video of David Nolan\u2019s American Record 200 IM\" href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/full-race-video-david-nolans-american-record-200-im\/\" target=\"_blank\">David Nolan&#8217;s American record of 1:40.07 from earlier this month at
