It\u2019s not the largest number to ever participate in the meet, but it will be a very popular affair at the Northside ISD Swim Center. Grevers will be using the meet to prepare for this summer\u2019s world championships in Russia, where he will be defending his 100 backstroke title. <\/p>\n<p>Grevers has a connection to San Antonio. His wife, Annie, was born and raised there, and she will be competing in the meet, possibly swimming on a mixed relay with her husband for Arizona Masters. Matt Grevers won\u2019t be the only member of Team USA\u2019s world championship roster at the meet. Anthony Ervin will return to the meet after performing well at last year\u2019s nationals in Santa Clara. Ervin is set for the 50 free and 400 free relay at worlds, and he\u2019ll likely be a part of the 50 and 100 freestyles in San Antonio.<\/p>\n<p>Eight other Olympians have signed up for Masters nationals, making it one of the most star-studded national championships in recent history. Below is a list of the Olympians and the years in which they competed in the Games:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Jon Cleveland (Canada): 1988; 1992, silver in 400 medley relay; 1996<br \/>\nRick Colella (USA): 1972; 1976, bronze in 200 breaststroke<br \/>\nJosh Davis (USA): 1996, gold in all three relays; 2000, silver in 400 free relay and 800 free relay<br \/>\nAnthony Ervin (USA): 2000, gold in 50 freestyle; 2012<br \/>\nMatt Grevers (USA): 2008, gold in 400 free relay and 400 medley relay, silver in 100 backstroke; 2012, gold in 100 back and 400 medley relay, silver in 400 free relay<br \/>\nNoriko Inada (Japan): 1992, 2000, 2004<br \/>\nGraham Johnston (South Africa): 1952<br \/>\nTamas Kerekjarto (Hungary): 1996, 2004, 2008<br \/>\nRoque Santos (USA): 1992<br \/>\nAmi Trauber (Israel): 1960<br \/>\nDave Wharton (USA): 1998, silver in 400 individual medley; 1992<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>While Olympians will likely stop the show, the USMS nationals also will feature several past winners of the <i>Swimming World Magazine<\/i> World Masters Swimmers of the Year, many of whom are expected to break national records. NCAA All-Americans and Olympic Trials competitors will also provide fast swimming among the hundreds who will be attending their first national championships. The meet will also have an international flavor. Athletes from Canada, Egypt, Mexico and Ukraine will travel to southern Texas for the four-day competition.<\/p>\n<p>The meet\u2019s psych sheet is expected to be released in a few days. <a
