GREENSBORO- Amber McDermott is officially retired from swimming after dedicating much of her last 15 years to the sport. She gave her all through four years with the Georgia Bulldogs and came to the decision two weeks ago that NCAAs would be her final swim meet. Her senior NCAAs was highlighted by finishing in the top 8 in all three of her individual races (4th in 500 free, 3rd in 400 IM, 5th in 1650 free). <\/p>\n

Coach Jack Bauerle is thankful for senior captain McDermott\u2019s leadership on and off the pool deck. McDermott talked to Swimming World about her mental process in coming to a career-ending decision and what her plans are going into her post-aquatic life.<\/p>\n
