Coming into night two of the 2015 NCAA Division III Championships, Emory junior Andrew Wilson was already an NCAA record holder in two events.<\/p>\n
He had already won the 200 individual medley in an NCAA record time of 1:46.23 on day one. That swim included a 28.91 breaststroke split, by far the fastest in the field, and propelled him from seventh at the 100 to first at the 150 and he was able to hold off Hugh Anderson of Mary Washington for the win and the title.<\/p>\n
He also was the record holder in the 100 breaststroke setting the record back in December with a 53.41.<\/p>\n
Wilson then proceed to break the record in prelims, swimming to the top seed and a 52.59, almost a full second under his old record.<\/p>\n
He wasn’t done.<\/p>\n
He found an extra gear during finals and exploded for a 51.72, 1.69 seconds faster than what his own record was not 24 hours earlier.<\/p>\n
Wilson is now the 13th fastest 100 breaststroker of all time and the 9th quickest American.<\/p>\n
