Waddell stopped the clock at 54.20 to take .09 off Jacie Beagle&#8217;s 2011 meet record of 54.29. Samantha Coloma of the Terrapins Swim Team came in second at 55.04, while Central Iowa&#8217;s Madeleine Gehrke rounded out the top three in 55.34.<\/p>\n<p>In the men&#8217;s 100 back, Kenneth Mende raced to the win in 47.66, just missing Adam Mania&#8217;s 2009 meet record of 47.12 in the process. Dustin Rhoades of Ames Cyclones Aquatics hit the wall second in 48.07, one second in front of Iowa City&#8217;s Alex Walton (49.07).<\/p>\n<p>The second meet record of the evening went down in the women&#8217;s 100 breast final as Clovis Swim Club&#8217;s Danielle Herrmann rocketed under a minute with a 59.31. That took half a second off Ashley Wanland&#8217;s 2013 meet record of 59.81, and was more than two seconds ahead of Imelda Wistey&#8217;s 1:01.58. Barrington Swim Club&#8217;s Valerie Tarazi touched third in 1:03.15.<\/p>\n<p>Sean Mahoney of Terrapins Swim Team swam under the men&#8217;s 100 breast meet record in finals with a time of 53.81, just under two tenths faster than Eric Johnson went in 2009 (53.99). Rio Kurihara of Bolles School came in just behind at 54.28, with John Bushman right on his heels at 54.58.<\/p>\n<p>Barrington Swim Club&#8217;s Kirsten Jacobsen, last night&#8217;s winner of the 1000 free, added a second win in the 200 free with a 1:47.44 in finals. Life Time Arizona&#8217;s Isabel Whited dipped under 1:50 with a 1:49.92 for second, while Iowa Flyers&#8217; Taylor Beadle picked up third in 1:51.07.<\/p>\n<p>Clovis Swim Club&#8217;s Graham Hauss led the way in the men&#8217;s 200 with a 1:39.44, the only swim under 1:40 in the meet. Nathan Barsanti of Terrapins dropped a second from prelims to finish second, while Glenview Titans&#8217; Sam Iida claimed third in 1:41.29.<\/p>\n<p>Mitchell Aquatic Club&#8217;s Tevyn Waddell doubled up in the 100 back and 100 fly, posting a 54.31 in fly to edge Lane Four&#8217;s Alexa Harris (54.43) for the win. Linn-Mar&#8217;s Kelsey Drake held onto her third place seed with a 55.40 in finals.<\/p>\n<p>Clovis Swim Club&#8217;s Carl Weigley took down the fourth meet record of the night in the men&#8217;s 100 fly, topping the championship final in 47.12 to knock Kyle Bubolz&#8217;s 47.22 from 2003 out of the record books. Pleasant Prairie&#8217;s Stephen Yemm, who had qualified first in 47.94, wound up second in 47.60, just missing the record. Rio Kurihara of Bolles earned another top three finish with a 48.04 for third.<\/p>\n<p>Clovis&#8217; Danielle Herrmann got to the wall first in the women&#8217;s 200 IM final, picking up her second first place finish of the night with a 2:00.84. Herrmann had a comfortable cushion over Etown Dolphins&#8217; Manuela Sampaio, who touched second in 2:02.43. Peoria Area&#8217;s Rachael Kelch rounded out the top three in 2:05.26.<\/p>\n<p>After taking third in the 100 breast, Minnesota&#8217;s John Bushman moved up two spots to first in the 200 IM after touching in 1:48.30. Iowa City&#8217;s Alex Walton was right behind in 1:48.67, followed by Christian Carbone in 1:48.99.<\/p>\n<p>Clovis&#8217; foursome of Stephanie Bartel, Emily Niles, Caitlyn Snyder and Danielle Herrmann topped the women&#8217;s 800 free relay in 7:28.38, with Barrington&#8217;s Valerie Tarazi, Andrea Vega, Magdalena Emary and Kirsten Jacobsen in second at 7:30.31. Peoria Area rounded out the top three with Sophia Miller, Rachael Kelch, Alaina Potts and Jordan Reis swimming a 7:40.23.<\/p>\n<p>Clovis swept the distance relays as Carl Weigley, Colin Cavanaugh, Preston Mayer and Graham Hauss cruised to a new meet record of 6:45.76 in the men&#8217;s race, lowering the previous mark of 6:50.19 set by Lake Forest in 2001. Nathan Barsanti, Sean Mahoney, Maxwell Bottene and Tyler James gave the Terrapins a second place showing in 6:49.68, while Dubuque Area rounded out the top three in 6:55.74, thanks to John Colin, Benjamin Colin, Charles Warren and Jordan Huff.<\/p>\n<p>Clovis leads the team standings after day two with 379 points.
