AMERICAN Andy Potts emerged victorious on Wednesday during the New Zealand stop on the World Cup triathlon circuit. A 29-year-old, Potts edged Estonia&#39;s Marko Albert to claim the title and the first-place check of $40,000. <\/p>\n<p>After completing a 1,500-meter swim, Potts and Albert broke away from the field during the 40-kilometer bike stage. Potts then worked his way free from Albert to cross the finish line first. Potts, though, showed great sportsmanship by waiting for Albert at the finish. The race featured blustery wind conditions<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The last five kilometers were super special to me,&quot; Potts said. &quot;Being up front, we took the brunt of the wind the whole race. When you&#39;re breaking wind, it&#39;s a lot harder than if you&#39;re sitting in and Marko and I were working together so much, he took up a lot of the workload because it adds up. It (the win) wouldn&#39;t have happened if Marko wasn&#39;t there.
