LEWISBURG, Pennsylvania, November 11. THE Navy swimming and diving teams remained undefeated on the season after both programs recorded a pair of victories over Bucknell and Lafayette Saturday afternoon in Lewisburg, Pa. The Navy women improved to 9-0 on the season with the 200-100 win over Bucknell and 202-98 victory over Lafayette, while the men's squad improved to 7-0 on the year following a 234-66 win over the Bison and a 241-58 victory over the Leopards.<\/p>\n
The Navy men's team won 15 of the 16 events contested on the day, with the women's team claiming 14 victories.<\/p>\n
"It was an all-around great meet for us," said Navy women's swimming head coach John Morrison.<\/p>\n
"I was very pleased with the total team effort we saw today," said Navy men's swimming head coach Bill Roberts.<\/p>\n
The top individual event performance of the day came from Thuy-Mi Dinh (Fr., Anaheim, Calif.) who set a new school record in the 50-yard freestyle with her lead-off leg time of 23.43 in the 200 freestyle relay. Her clocking, which breaks the mark of 23.52 set by Tori Throckmorton nearly four years ago, is also a NCAA 'B' cut qualifying time.<\/p>\n
Dinh would also go on to win the 50 and 100 freestyle events on the day for the Mids. Joining her as multiple event winners for the Navy women's team was Tara Chapmon (Fr., Virginia Beach, Va.), who won the 500 and 1000 free events, Mallory Dietrich (Fr., Pittsburgh, Pa.), who won the 200 free, 100 fly and 200 breaststroke races, and Katie Griffin (Jr., Ellicott City, Md.), who swept both diving boards. <\/p>\n
On the men's side, Danny Flemming (Sr., Loganville, Ga.), Kevin Mukri (Sr., Silver Spring, Md.) and Adam Meyer (Fr., St. Louis, Mo.) each picked up a pair of wins on the day. Flemming took the 100 and 200 freestyle events, Mukri won the 100 back and 500 free races, and Meyer claimed the 200 fly and 400 individual medley events.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
