OKLAHOMA CITY – Daniel Ramirez of Oklahoma Baptist was the star of the night with a pair of wins, including an NAIA record in the 100 fly, at the NAIA Championships.<\/p>\n
Oklahoma Baptist is on its way to defending both its men’s and women’s titles. \u00a0OBU lead SCAD for the women’s title, 483-326, while the men lead Olivet Nazarene, 585.5-381.5.<\/p>\n
OBU’s Laura Galarza (22.85), Emma Forbes-Milne (22.84), Tammy Price (23.31) and Andrea Antonissen (22.91) won the women’s 200-yard free relay in an NAIA record time of 1:31.91.<\/p>\n
That swim cleared the 2014 record set by OBU of 1:32.15 clocked by\u00a0Laura Galarza, Emma Forbes-Milne, Lisa MacManus and\u00a0Andrea Antonissen.<\/p>\n
Olivet Nazarene (1:34.99) and SCAD (1:35.35) finished second and third in the finale.<\/p>\n
OBU’s Logan Lassley (20.29), Daniel Ramirez (19.75), Daniel Robbins (20.16) and Jake Phillips (19.71) won the men’s 200-yard free relay in 1:19.91.<\/p>\n
ONU took second in 1:20.25 with SCAD placing third in 1:22.26.<\/p>\n
Concordia-Irvine’s Baliee Blankemeier just missed another 1993 Lourette Hakansson record after Christine Tixier downed her 200-yard IM last night.<\/p>\n
Blankemeier posted a 4:24.27 in the women’s 400-yard IM, just off Hakansson’s 4:24.03 from 22 years ago. Brenau’s Courtney Hayward took second in 4:24.87 with Biola’s Lisa Tixier taking third in 4:28.72.<\/p>\n
SCAD’s Tyler Prescott topped the men’s 400-yard IM in 3:54.39 with teammate Connor Wilson placing second in 3:55.55. OBU’s Alex Mundt snared third in 3:56.56.<\/p>\n
Biola’s Christine Tixier clipped another NAIA record, this time with a 54.34 in the women’s 100-yard fly. \u00a0That swim surpassed her own 2014 of 54.35 by the slimmest of margins.<\/p>\n
Brenau’s Alisha Hodgetts placed second in 56.61 with teammate Michelle Billeaud earning third in 57.01.<\/p>\n
An equally close NAIA record occurred in the men’s 100-yard fly as OBU’s Daniel Ramirez popped a 46.12. That performance eclipsed his own 2014 record of 46.13.<\/p>\n
ONU’s Frank Tapie (48.56) and OBU’s Marc Sambolin (49.06) touched second and third.<\/p>\n
OBU’s Laura Galarza claimed the women’s 200-yard free title in 1:50.49 with teammate Lexie Keller taking second in 1:51.89. \u00a0ONU’s Eugenia Sebastiani wound up third in 1:52.72.<\/p>\n
SCAD’s Joel Ax nearly took down another NAIA record, this time with a 1:36.82 to win the men’s 200-yard free. \u00a0That swim just missed his own 1:36.71 from last year.<\/p>\n
ONU’s Simon Pheasant took second in 1:38.66 with Lindenwood-Belleville’s Lucas Dengler-Harles finishing third in 1:39.64.<\/p>\n
OBU’s Kerryn Mullin (1:03.16) and Leslie White (1:05.42) went 1-2 in the women’s 100-yard breast, while Brenau’s Michelle Billeaud placed third overall in 1:05.94.<\/p>\n
OBU’s Vitor da Franca won the men’s 100-yard breast in 54.27, while teammate Fernando Morillas took second in 54.45. \u00a0ONU’s Calvin Price snared third in 54.98.<\/p>\n
Brenau’s Talia Sola paced the women’s 100-yard back in 54.76 with OBU’s Ines Remersaro taking second in 55.48. \u00a0OBU’s Tammy Price finished third in 55.97.<\/p>\n
OBU’s Daniel Ramirez doubled up and nearly popped another NAIA record with a 46.88 in the men’s 100-yard back. \u00a0That’s just off his 46.28 from last year.<\/p>\n
OBU’s JP Goyetche finished second in 47.96 with ONU’s Jacob Anderson taking third in 49.39.<\/p>\n
OBU’s Kristen Brimage won during the diving break with 252.35 points on the three-meter. \u00a0Cumberland’s Michelle McDonald took second with 237.90 points, while OBU’s Genesis Veliz snared third with 205.90 points.<\/p>\n
OBU’s Ines Rmersaro (56.19), Kerryn Mullin (1:03.82), Laura Galarza (53.62) and Lexie Keller (51.32) won the women’s 400-yard medley relay in 3:44.95. Brenau (3:50.79) and Biola (3:51.73) placed second and third.<\/p>\n
OBU’s JP Goyetche (48.59), Vitor da Franca (53.78), Daniel Ramirez (47.87) and Daniel Robbins (44.27) topped the men’s 400-yard medley relay in 3:14.51. SCAD (3:18.77) and St. Andrews (3:18.91) completed the podium.<\/p>\n
