AT the end of a blistering fast two-day meet, No. 3 Stanford stood head-and-shoulders above No. 4 Auburn and No. 15 Tennessee at the Student Aquatic Center in Knoxville, Tenn.  Stanford downed Auburn, 191.5-161.5, while also defeating Tennessee, 245-108.  Auburn also topped Tennessee, 203.5-143.5.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, Stanford finished the second day of action with 13 titles out of 19 events.  Auburn claimed the second-most event titles with five, while Tennessee picked up the remaining crown.<\/p>\n<p><b>200-yard medley relay<\/b><br \/>\nStanford kept the ball rolling after a tremendous first day of action.  Stanford posted a provisional-cut time of 1:42.27 to win the medley relay, while Auburn&#39;s squad of Rachel Goh, Alicia Jensen, Margo McCawley and Kara Denby took second in 1:43.18.  Tennessee&#39;s team of Megan Tomes, Tiffany Clay, Christine Magnuson and Michele King rounded out the top three with a 1:45.01.  Tennessee did not report relay members for Stanford&#39;s A and B teams.<\/p>\n<p><b>1000-yard freestyle<\/b><br \/>\nAuburn went 1-2 in the distance freestyle event when Adrienne Binder won the event in 9:43.62, while Hayley Peirsol grabbed second in 9:46.18.  Stanford&#39;s Elizabeth Durot closed out the top three in 10:09.25, while Ashley Knapik gave Tennessee&#39;s its highest placement with a fifth-place 10:19.97.<\/p>\n<p><b>200-yard freestyle<\/b><br \/>\nA pair of swimmers cleared the B cut in the 200 free as Auburn&#39;s Emily Kukors touched first in 1:48.40 and Tennessee&#39;s Christine Magnuson finished runner-up in 1:49.67.  Stanford&#39;s Desiree Stahley picked up third-place honors in 1:51.08.<\/p>\n<p><b>100-yard backstroke<\/b><br \/>\nAuburn&#39;s Rachel Goh lit up the pool with an automatic-qualifying time of 54.29 to win the 100 back.  Stanford&#39;s Brooke Bishop finished second with a B-cut time of 55.07, while her teammate Fiona O&#39;Donnell-McCarthy placed third in 56.34.  Megan Tomes provided UT&#39;s top finisher with a fifth-place 57.16.<\/p>\n<p><b>100-yard breaststroke<\/b><br \/>\nStanford&#39;s Caroline Bruce captured the 100 breast title in 1:04.05 to beat out Auburn&#39;s Alicia Jensen&#39;s second-place effort of 1:04.41.  Tennessee&#39;s Michelle King tied with Auburn&#39;s Abby MacGregor for third in 1:04.63.<\/p>\n<p><b>200-yard butterfly<\/b><br \/>\nStanford&#39;s Elaine Breeden ripped off an automatic-qualifying time of 1:58.56 to win the 200 fly in front of several Auburn Tigers.  Kristen Hastrup (2:01.93) and Ava Ohlgren (2:02.21) finished second and third, respectively, with B cut times.  Meanwhile, Jamie Saffer took eighth for Tennessee in 2:09.32 for the top Lady Vol time.<\/p>\n<p><b>50-yard freestyle<\/b><br \/>\nStanford&#39;s Brooke Bishop stopped the clock in a B-cut time of 23.12 to hold off Tennessee&#39;s Michele King, who took second in 23.44.  Auburn&#39;s Kara Denby rounded out the podium with a 23.47.<\/p>\n<p><b>Three-meter diving<\/b><br \/>\nIn the diving break, Stanford&#39;s Cassidy Krug led a trio of divers to surpass the zone-qualifying score.  Krug won the event with 315.30 points, while Auburn&#39;s Lynnsey Segraves (303.40) and Corey Lynn Gerlach (298.05) placed second and third, respectively.  Vicky Linnell finished fifth with 237.05 points for Tennessee&#39;s best effort.<\/p>\n<p><b>200-yard IM<\/b><br \/>\nFour swimmers cleared the provisional cut in the 200 IM.  Stanford&#39;s Julia Smit hit the wall first in 2:01.17, while Auburn&#39;s Emily Kukors placed second in 2:03.15.  Tennessee&#39;s Megan Tomes took third in 2:03.24, while Auburn&#39;s Ava Ohlgren garnered fourth in 2:03.32.<\/p>\n<p><b>400-yard freestyle relay<\/b><br \/>\nThe top three relay teams recorded B cuts in the final event of the two-day meet.  Auburn&#39;s squad of Kara Denby, Rachel Goh, Emile Ewing and Emily Kukors finished first in 3:20.54, while Stanford&#39;s team of Elaine Breeden, Brooke Bishop, Fiona O&#39;Donnell-McCarthy and Julia Smit placed second in 3:22.61.  Tennessee&#39;s quartet of Michele King, Carly Mathes, Christine Magnuson and Megan Tomes closed out the top three in 3:24.38.
