JENKS – Night one of the Jenks Sectionals meet is in the books, with Flyers Aquatic Swim Team’s Genevieve Pfeifer and Razorback Aquatic Club’s Antonio Thomas claiming the 1000 freestyle crowns at the Jenks Trojan Aquatic Center in Jenks, Okla.<\/p>\n
Pfeifer raced to a time of 9:48.21 in the women’s 1000 free, a three second drop from her seed time. Razorback Aquatic Club’s Taylor Pike also recorded a lifetime best, clearing 10 minutes for the first time in her career with a 9:59.83 for second. Jordan Stout of Rockwood Swim Club came in third with a 10:01.74.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Thomas chopped 17 seconds off his personal best to top the men’s field in 9:19.24. He finished about 10 seconds ahead of Columbia Swim Club’s Zachary Lorson, who also had a huge swim, taking 34 seconds off his seed time with a 9:29.52 for second. Justin Andrews of CSP Tideriders came in third at 9:31.64.<\/p>\n
