{"id":124946,"date":"2015-02-28T16:39:04","date_gmt":"2015-02-28T23:39:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=124946"},"modified":"2015-02-28T16:39:04","modified_gmt":"2015-02-28T23:39:04","slug":"longtime-northern-iowa-swim-coach-glen-henry-passes-away","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/longtime-northern-iowa-swim-coach-glen-henry-passes-away\/","title":{"rendered":"Longtime Northern Iowa Swim Coach Glen Henry Passes Away"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CEDAR FALLS &#8211; Longtime University of Northern Iowa swimming coach Glen Henry passed away Friday at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital in Cedar Falls, according to the <a href=\"http:\/\/wcfcourier.com\/sports\/college\/uni\/swimming\/legendary-uni-swim-coach-henry-dies\/article_634ce4a4-8fcc-5670-a996-3d49494d11f7.html\">Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier<\/a>. Henry was 75.<\/p>\n<p>Henry led the Northern Iowa men&#8217;s program from 1966-1981, in addition to coaching the women&#8217;s team the final two seasons. He also served on the NCAA Swimming and Diving Rules Committee and officiated at\u00a0NCAA Division I swimming and diving national championships.<\/p>\n<p>A motorcycle accident in 2004 left Henry paralyzed from the chest down, but didn&#8217;t stop him from returning to UNI as a volunteer assistant coach in 2010.<\/p>\n<p>The UNI pool, Glen F.
