{"id":124893,"date":"2015-02-28T09:09:22","date_gmt":"2015-02-28T16:09:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=124893"},"modified":"2015-02-28T09:09:22","modified_gmt":"2015-02-28T16:09:22","slug":"nc-states-hennessey-stuart-downs-acc-record-in-200-back","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/nc-states-hennessey-stuart-downs-acc-record-in-200-back\/","title":{"rendered":"NC State&#8217;s Hennessey Stuart Downs ACC Record in 200 Back"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ATLANTA &#8211; Louisville and NC State both had a strong morning, but Wolfpack swimmer Hennessey Stuart put up the top swim of the morning with an ACC record in the 200 back.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Up\/Downs for Feb. 28<\/strong><\/p>\n[table \u201c\u201d not found \/]<br \/>\n\n<p><strong>200 back\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>NC State freshman Hennessey Stuart took down the conference and meet records in the 200-yard back this morning with a swift 1:39.73.<\/p>\n<p>That swim eclipsed Colin Higgins&#8217; 2014 conference record of 1:40.10 set at NCAAs last year, and downed Stephen Coetzer&#8217;s meet record of 1:40.53 from last year&#8217;s conference meet.<\/p>\n<p>Virginia Tech&#8217;s Robert Own (1:41.45) and Louisville&#8217;s Aaron Greene (1:41.89) both cleared 1:42 to round out the top three.<\/p>\n<p><em>Up\/Downs (ACCs is scoring through the top 24. The # of A, B, C finalists are listed below):<\/em><\/p>\n[table \u201c\u201d not found \/]<br \/>\n\n<p><strong>100 free<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Georgia Tech&#8217;s Andrew Kosic (42.30) and NC State&#8217;s Simonas Bilis (42.45) both cleared the NCAA A cut in the 100 free this morning.<\/p>\n<p>NC State&#8217;s freestyle group continued to push the Wolfpack to the ACC team title with Ryan Held (42.53), David Williams (42.82) and Soeren Dahl (43.27) going 3-4-7 to give NC State four into the A final.<\/p>\n<p><em>Up\/Downs (ACCs is scoring through the top 24. The # of A, B, C finalists are listed below):<\/em><\/p>\n[table \u201c\u201d not found \/]<br \/>\n\n<p><strong>200 breast<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Louisville had a big event with four swimmers making the finale.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas Dahlia topped prelims with a 1:54.74, while Addison Bray checked in second with a 1:55.29.<\/p>\n<p>Carlos Claveria (1:55.51) and Todd Owen (1:56.70) went 4-7 to close out a strong event for the Cardinals.<\/p>\n<p><em>Up\/Downs (ACCs is scoring through the top 24. The # of A, B, C finalists are listed below):<\/em><\/p>\n[table \u201c\u201d not found \/]<br \/>\n\n<p><strong>200 fly<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>NC State&#8217;s Christian McCurdy led the way in the 200 fly prelims with a 1:42.51, while Florida State&#8217;s Connor Knight joined him under 1:43 with a second-place 1:42.92. \u00a0Virginia Tech&#8217;s Morgan Latimer rounded out the top three in 1:43.28.<\/p>\n<p><em>Up\/Downs (ACCs is scoring through the top 24.
