FRIDAY begins another action-packed weekend of SwimmingWorldMagazine.com Meet of the Week coverage.  First up is a two-day meeting between a trio of top-15 women&#39;s teams.  No. 15 Tennessee plays host to No. 3 Stanford and No. 4 Auburn in Knoxville, Tenn.<\/p>\n<p>We will also be shining the spotlight on Cal State Bakersfield at UC-San Diego, as well as the St. Olaf quad meet when the Oles host Augsburg, St. Catherine&#39;s and St. Mary&#39;s.<\/p>\n<p>With that being said, here is a quick preview of the Auburn, Stanford at Tennessee match-up:<\/p>\n<p><b>Date and Time:<\/b> Friday, November 10, 2006 \u2013 Saturday, November 11, 2006 \u2013 4 p.m. and 10 a.m.<br \/>\n<b>Location:<\/b> Knoxville, Tennessee<br \/>\n<b>Facility:<\/b> Student Aquatics Center<br \/>\n<b>CSCAA Rankings (as of Nov. 2):<\/b><br \/>\nAuburn: 4<br \/>\nStanford: 3<br \/>\nTennessee: 15<\/p>\n<p><b>Auburn&#39;s Last Time Out:<\/b><br \/>\nOutside of a putting together a few swims at its own War Eagle Invitational, an open meet that included swimmers from the 10-and-under age group all the way up to senior swimming, Auburn&#39;s last meet came during its season opener against LSU on Oct. 6. Co-captain Adrienne Binder picked up two provisional times in the 200 freestyle (1:48.80) and the 200 IM (2:03.77). Emily Kukors won the 200 fly with a B-cut time of 2:00.55, as did defending NCAA champion Rachel Goh in the 100 back (55.32).  In the diving well, senior Lynnsey Segraves scored a 255.75 on one-meter to finish third and grab a spot at the zone championship. <\/p>\n<p>Auburn also won the following events against LSU: 50 free (Emile Ewing &#8211; 23.47), 200 free (Binder &#8211; 1:48.80), 500 free (Ava Ohlgren &#8211; 4:57.00), 1000 free (Blakeley Bunch &#8211; 10:16.08), 100 breast (Alicia Jensen \u2013 1:05.50), 200 breast (Anne Amardeilh &#8211; 2:20.70), 100 fly (Tawnie Bethune \u2013 56.45) and 200 fly (Kukors &#8211; 2:00.55).<\/p>\n<p><b>Looking forward with Auburn co-head women&#39;s coach Dorsey Tierney-Walker:<\/b><br \/>\n<i> This will be our first big test of the year.  We are thrilled that Stanford has decided to come to our neck of the woods.  It will be a nice change of pace for us being able to race one of the top teams in the country and one that is outside the SEC.  Stanford has some phenomenal athletes, including Olympian Caroline Bruce, and has a terrific freshman class, led by Elaine Breeden and Julia Smit.  I appreciate Tennessee putting this meet together and we are excited to be competing.  Tennessee is an improved team and continues to get better every year.  Second-year head coach Matt Kredich brought in a good group of freshman, led by Michele King.  Overall, this will be a great meet and we are looking forward to it.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Stanford&#39;s Last Time Out:<\/b><br \/>\nStanford finished off an impressive non-conference dual meet win at No. 11 Texas on Oct. 28 to close out two days of action at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center. Stanford&#39;s won 14 of the first 16 events contested in the meet with the final 195-150 margin of victory reflecting the Cardinal competing exhibition in the final three swimming events. Julia Smit recorded her second NCAA A-cut in as many days when she recorded a time of 2:00.08 as an exhibition swimmer in the 200 IM. Smit had won the 400 IM in dominating fashion on the first day by clocking in with an automatic-qualifying time of 4:10.96 that made her the No. 5 all-time Stanford performer in the event. Smit also won the 200 back in a provisional cut of 1:59.32. Brooke Bishop and Caroline Bruce also put up NCAA A cuts during the two-day meet. Bruce hit standard with a time of 2:10.19 to take the 200 breast, while Bishop checked in with a 22.71 as an exhibition swimmer in the 50 free. Bishop also earned a pair of victories in the meet, taking the 100 free (49.61) and 100 back (54.59) with provisional-qualifying times. Elaine Breeden swept the meet&#39;s fly events with a victory in the 100 (53.85) and 200 (2:02.69). Other Stanford individual winners included Cassidy Krug (1-meter diving, 287.77) and Desire\u00e9 Stahley (500 free, 4:53.78), as well as Lauren Costella (1650 free, 16:38.06) and Whitney Spence (200 free, 1:49.80). Each swimmer posted B-cut times in their respective events.<\/p>\n<p><b>Looking forward with Stanford head women&#39;s coach Lea Maurer:<\/b><br \/>\n<i>We are really excited to be able to race the defending champions Auburn and a rapidly-rising, quality team like Tennessee. We appreciate being included in the meet and we look forward to some great racing from everyone.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Tennessee&#39;s Last Time Out:<\/b><br \/>\nThe Lady Vols recorded two wins in their tri-meet versus South Carolina and then-No. 23 Kentucky. Tennessee downed the Gamecocks, 141-98, and the Wildcats, 131-108. Three Lady Vol swimmers earned NCAA B-cuts in individual events, while the foursome of freshman Michele King, sophomores Carly Mathes and Brittany Nauta and junior Christine Magnuson combined to win the 400 freestyle relay event in 3:24.37 to provisionally qualify as well.  Senior Megan Tomes won two events on the evening, the 200 free (1:49.65) and the 500 free (4:54.48) with the 200 free clearing the B-cut standard.  Additionally, Tomes&#39; leadoff leg in the 400 medley relay provisionally qualified her in the 100 back. Freshman standout King also won in the freestyle, winning the 50 free in a B-cut time of 23.09. Magnuson provisionally qualified by touching in 2:01.50 in the 200 fly.  On the diving side, junior Lauren LeRoy led the squad with a second-place 264.10 in the three-meter and a third-place 258.45 in the one-meter.<\/p>\n<p><b>Looking forward with Tennessee head women&#39;s coach Matt Kredich:<\/b><br \/>\n<i>We&#39;re really excited do some great racing this weekend.  We&#39;ve been talking a lot this year about raising our own standards of performance, and this week we&#39;ll have that done for us. These are two great teams. Auburn is obviously the defending national champion, and Stanford is swimming as well as anyone in the country right now, so we need to bring our absolute best.
