ATLANTA – Sprint day was very kind to the N.C. State Wolfpack as the squad dominated the ACC Men’s Championships all night long.<\/p>\n

NC State’s Anton Ipsen raced his way to an NCAA A cut time in the men’s 500-yard free relay with a time of 4:13.87. \u00a0He won the finale by more than two seconds.<\/p>\n

Louisville’s Trevor Carroll placed second in 4:16.03 with North Carolina’s Henry Campbell touching third in 4:17.27.<\/p>\n

Virginia Tech managed to add to its diving-built lead with Michal Szuba (4:20.41) and Jake Ores (4:20.69) finishing fourth and fifth.<\/p>\n

Brandon Fiala of Virginia Tech did what he could to hold off a bit of an N.C. State onslaught in the 200-yard IM with a winning time of 1:43.97.<\/p>\n

N.C. State, however, ran off the next three finishers with Stephen Coetzer (1:44.04), Soeren Dahl (1:44.06) and Christian McCurdy (1:44.75) going 2-3-4.<\/p>\n

N.C. State unleashed an incredible 50 free finale with a 1-2-4-5 effort.<\/p>\n

Simonas Bilis led the way way with an NCAA A cut 19.07 while David Williams took second in an A cut 19.12.<\/p>\n

Georgia Tech’s Andrew Kosic picked up third-place honors with an A cut 19.23, while N.C. State’s Andreas Schiellerup (19.55) and Ryan Held (19.58) placed fourth and fifth.<\/p>\n

At diving last week, Miami’s Briadan Herrera won the one-meter event with 453.85 points. \u00a0Miami’s Samuel Dorman (404.80) and Virginia’s JB Kolod (372.90) took second and third.<\/p>\n

N.C. State’s vaunted sprint group then demolished the meet record in the 200-yard free relay. \u00a0Simonas Bilis (18.98), Ryan Held (18.96), Andreas Schiellerup (19.11) and David Williams (18.57) uncorked a smoking 1:15.62.<\/p>\n

That swim beat the previous record of 1:16.16 set by N.C. State last year, while Bilis became the first man in the ACC to break 19 second with his leadoff leg.<\/p>\n

North Carolina’s Sam Lewis (19.36), Nic Graesser (19.07), Ben Colley (19.41) and Logan Heck (19.19) took second in 1:17.03 with Louisville’s Thomas Dahlia (19.76), Trevor Carroll (19.25), Rudy Edelen (19.61) and Caryle Blondell (19.34) finishing third in 1:17.96.<\/p>\n
