BALTIMORE, Maryland, November 4. THE Loyola swimming and diving teams split their tri-meet with Georgetown and Seton Hall at the Mangione Aquatic Center on Saturday afternoon. The Greyhounds defeated the Hoyas 179-107 on the men's side and 165-135 in women's action while falling to the Pirates by scores of 170-124 and 189-111 respectively. <\/p>\n
The Greyhounds were led by another strong performance from senior Ryan Reeser in the pool and by senior Megan Sterback on the boards. Reeser led the men with wins in both the 500- and 1,000-yard freestyle events while Sterback won both the 1- and 3-meter diving competitions for the women. <\/p>\n
Reeser swam well in registering times of 4:45.55 in the 500 Free and 9:52.17 in the 1,000 Free. He also placed second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:45.14. Freshman Brad Reeser won the 100-yard freestyle in 48.34 while senior Drew Crampton took second in the event in 48.66. <\/p>\n
The Reeser brothers, Crampton and junior Paul Ebert then teamed up to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:26.92. <\/p>\n
The women's team also captured their 200-yard freestyle relay with the foursome of senior Meagan Parrott, sophomore Clare Ostrom and freshmen Melanie Chambers and Megan Shovlin. The team put together a time of 1:38.25 for the victory. <\/p>\n
Other women winners on the day included Melissa White, who captured the 100-yard backstroke in 1:00.98 and Megan Royer, who won the 50-yard freestyle in 25.11. Victoria Kamauff took second in the 200 Free with a time of 1:58.94. <\/p>\n
The Loyola men also had several strong runner-up finishes with Zachary Oster taking second in both the 200-yard butterfly (2:01.60) and 200-yard IM (2:02.38). Brad Reeser was second in the 50 Free (21.91) while Ernest Verrico took second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.22).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
