Carl Albert and Booker T. Washington shared third place honors, with each team scoring 156 points. In the boys’ meet, Altus scored 349 points to take down Fort Gibson (223 points) and Stillwater (206 points).

Four 5A state records fell at the meet, with a bunch of near misses in other events. Stillwater’s foursome of Dewi Blose, Brooke Njaa, Alexx Thomas and Kayla Dunn broke the 5A record in the opening 200 medley relay, posting a 1:57.71 to nip McGuinness’ 2010 record of 1:57.82. Bishop Kelley’s Patrick Callan dipped under the boys’ 500 free mark with a 4:38.23, two seconds under Typ Whinnery’s 4:40.70 from 2009. Daniel Brown of Altus swept the sprint free events for the boys with times of 21.36 in the 50 free and 47.93 in the 100 free. Deven Speed of IKE added two wins in the 200 IM (2:12.85) and 100 back (58.73).

2015 Oklahoma 5A Swimming Championships – Results

6A Meet

In the 6A meet, the Bartlesville girls recorded 333 points to top Edmond Memorial (295 points) and Edmond North (286 points), who battled it out for second. Norman North took down Bartlesville for the boys’ team title, 379 points to 337 points. Edmond North rounded out the top three with 236.5 points.

Six 6A records fell during finals, with Bartlesville kicking things off with a new mark in the girls’ 200 medley relay. Delaney Shipman, Kate Steward, Greta Olsen and Haley Downey stopped the clock at 1:47.66, taking a chunk off Jenks’ 2005 record of 1:49.26. Edmond North’s Rylee Linhardt made it two record-breaking swims in a row for the girls with her 1:49.61 in the 200 free. She edged Katie Whitbeck’s record of 1:49.70, set in 2008. Later in the meet, she added a second record in the 100 back with a 56.52, just under Samantha Woodward’s 56.81 from 2007.

Linhardt’s teammate, Ally Robertson, kept the ball rolling in the 200 IM with a 2:02.74, almost a second under her own state record of 2:03.65 from 2013. Bartlesville took down a second relay record in the girls’ 200 free relay as Allison Biddinger, Kate Steward, Haley Downey and Emily Giovannetti touched in 1:37.27, lowering their own record of 1:38.85 from prelims.
