IN a meet that featured so much splashing that a pre-meet warm-up dive sunk the meet management computer and any semblance of decent results, NYU came through with a dominant 197-36 win over SUNY-Maritime in New York on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p><b>400-yard medley relay<\/b><br \/>\nNYU jumped to an early 15-2 lead after the 400 medley relay.  NYU&#39;s A team demolished the rest of the field en route to a 3:42.33 clocking.  Meanwhile, NYU&#39;s B team took second-place points in 4:41.49.  SUNY&#39;s top team rounded out the top three in 4:43.13.  Relay members were unavailable at time of printing.<\/p>\n<p><b>1000-yard freestyle<\/b><br \/>\nNYU kept the pressure on in the distance free with a 1-2 finish to take a 28-8 lead.  Roger Almeida scorched his competition to give NYU the title in 11:18.67, while Andrew Song placed second in 11:31.37.  SUNY&#39;s Al Juergens rounded out the top three in 11:48.03.<\/p>\n<p><b>200-yard freestyle<\/b><br \/>\nNYU ran its advantage to 44-11 with a top-three sweep in the 200 free.  Eric Wang held off teammate Andrew Song for the win, 1:51.50-1:51.72.  Meanwhile, Keiran Layton claimed third place in 1:54.69.<\/p>\n<p><b>50-yard freestyle<\/b><br \/>\nThe drubbing continued in the 50 free as NYU grabbed a 60-14 lead with a 1-2-3-4 finish.  Ben Barnes won the title in 22.83, while Chris Barber took second in 23.20.  Conor O&#39;Donnel placed third in 23.91, while Carl Critz finished fourth in 24.18.<\/p>\n<p><b>200-yard IM<\/b><br \/>\nWhat must have been a cannonball dive in pre-meet practice for the divers gave SwimmingWorldMagazine.com its first Meet of the Week phantom 1-2-3 finish.  As per official results distributed from NYU, the Violets captured the top-three spots without times reported to take a 76-17 lead.<\/p>\n<p><b>Three-meter diving<\/b><br \/>\nThe Violets won by default in on the three-meter as SUNY does not offer diving.  Cooper Morton took the title with 186.24 points, while Alexander Paul placed second with 168.60.  Kevin Ryan completed the trifecta with a 157.42 to push NYU out to a 92-17 lead.<\/p>\n<p><b>200-yard butterfly<\/b><br \/>\nNYU extended its lead to 105-20 with a 1-2 performance in the 200 fly.  Roger Almeida claimed his second title of the meet in 2:04.94, while teammate Eric Wang took second in 2:12.94.  SUNY&#39;s Brian Bosch closed out the top three in 3:06.98.<\/p>\n<p><b>100-yard freestyle<\/b><br \/>\nErin Wang joined Almeida as a two-event winner with a 48.98 as part of another top-three sweep by NYU.  Shaughn Keating picked up second in 50.01, while Aldo Chang took third in 55.16.  At the end of the event, NYU held a commanding 121-23 advantage.<\/p>\n<p><b>200-yard backstroke<\/b><br \/>\nThe Violets pushed their lead to 137-26 in the 200 back with another 1-2-3 effort.  Ben Barnes won the event in 2:08.01, while Michael Valletta took second in 2:12.68.  Chris Barber rounded out the top three in 2:14.10.<\/p>\n<p><b>500-yard freestyle<\/b><br \/>\nWith a 1-2 performance, NYU grabbed a 150-31 advantage in the meet.  Keiran Layton claimed the crown for NYU in 5:12.09, while Conor O&#39;Donnell placed second in 5:25.45.  SUNY&#39;s Al Juergens completed the top three with a 5:39.36 effort.<\/p>\n<p><b>One-meter diving<\/b><br \/>\nThe Violets took a 166-31 lead after a whitewash of diving when Cooper Morton put together the diving deuce with 240.22 points.  Kevin Ryan placed second with 183.87 points, while Steven Gelbart took third with 162.29.<\/p>\n<p><b>200-yard breaststroke<\/b><br \/>\nNYU kept the ball rolling in the 200 breast with a 1-2-3 finish to wind up with a 182-34 advantage.  Brad Harstein won the race in 2:19.22, while Carl Critz took second in 2:24.63.  Andrew Guyton rounded out the top three in 2:30.94.<\/p>\n<p><b>400-yard freestyle relay<\/b><br \/>\nThe Violets finished the dismantling of SUNY-Maritime in the 400 free relay.  NYU took the top two spots in 3:24.18 and 3:38.04, while SUNY&#39;s top team clocked a 3:48.37.
