SAN ANTONIO- A number of NCAA \u2018B\u2019 cuts were set on night three of the Mountain West Championships in San Antonio, Texas. The evening witnessed\u00a0San Diego State, led by Anika Apostalon, overtake Boise State to lead the meet with 493 points.<\/p>\n

In the first event of the night, San Diego State and Boise State made the 400-yard medley relay a close race, with San Diego State ultimately touching the wall first in an NCAA \u2018B\u2019 cut (3:35.19). Boise State was second in 3:36.02, while Wyoming touched third in 3:37.63.<\/p>\n

In the 400-yard Individual Medley, Li Yawen of Nevada get\u00a0her second 2015 MW title after her win last night 200-yard IM, touching in 4:07.65. Frida Berggren of San Diego was second in 4:12.34, and Kimberly Davis of Air Force was third in 4:17.42. All three swimmers achieved NCAA \u2018B\u2019 cuts.<\/p>\n

After a short technical delay, Brittany Aoyama of Boise State won the 100-yard butterfly in 52.09. She was followed by Summer Harrison of San Diego State (52.73) and Molly Coonce of Wyoming (54.04). All three swimmers achieved NCAA \u2018B\u2019 cuts, along with Claudia Carlson of Wyoming (54.38) and Sita Kusserow of Nevada (54.49).<\/p>\n

In the 200-yard freestyle, Teresa Baerens of Nevada won in 1:45.68. Boise State\u2019s Emma Chard touched second in 1:46.40, and Genevieve Miller of Air Force touched third in 1:47.81. All three were under the NCAA \u2018B\u2019 cut.<\/p>\n

The 100- yard breastroke was an exciting race with Wyoming Freshman Maria Harutjunjan winning in 1:00.84. Lina Rathsack of UNLV followed in second (1:01.33) and Emilie Campbell of San Diego was third (1:01.85). All three women, along with Arant Medina-Alegria of Nevada (1:01.88), Emily Ridout of Wyoming (1:02.29), Tess Simpson of Colorado State (1:02.31), Cecilia Zaccarelli of San Diego State (1:02.33) and Laura Day of San Diego State (1:02.41) achieved NCAA \u2018B\u2019 cuts.<\/p>\n

In the final race of the night Anika Apostalon of San Diego State won the 100-yard backstroke in 52.72. Samantha Wicks of Boise State was second in 53.07 and Jaeger Turner of Nevada was third in 53.53. All three swimmers were under NCAA \u2018B\u2019 cuts, along with Morgan McCormick of San Jose State (54.42), Nicolette Cannon of Boise State (54.69), Jordan Denny of Wyoming (54.76), Elena Gavrilova of UNLV (54.36) and Kaela McKee of New Mexico (54.86).<\/p>\n

The final day of the Mountain West Championships take off tomorrow 11 a.m. CT.<\/p>\n
