COLUMBUS – The Michigan Wolverines used a steady approach to lead after relay night at the Big Ten Women’s Championships in Columbus, Ohio.<\/p>\n
Wisconsin, based on a huge fly leg from Ivy Martin, put on a show to win the women’s 200-yard medley relay to start the evening.<\/p>\n
Annie Tamblyn (24.71), Anna Meinholz (27.68), Martin (22.66) and Chase Kinney (21.77) won in 1:36.82.<\/p>\n
Michigan led after the first two legs, and held on for second place.<\/p>\n
Ali DeLoof (24.06), Emily Kopas (27.57), Zoe Mattingly (23.77) and Madeline Frost (22.12) finished second overall in 1:37.52.<\/p>\n
Ohio State’s Li Zhesi (24.40), Ashley Vance (27.04), Annelise Sprau (24.00) and Annelise Jongekrijg (22.11) finished just behind with a third-place 1:37.55.<\/p>\n
Minnesota’s Tori Simenec (25.22), Kierra Smith (27.50), Danielle Nack (23.27) and Rebecca Weiland (21.78) also cleared the NCAA A cut with a 1:37.77.<\/p>\n
Indiana then cleared the meet record in the women’s 800-yard free relay with a blistering 6:59.10.<\/p>\n
The foursome of Haley Lips (1:44.16), Kennedy Goss (1:43.18), Grace Vertigans (1:45.22) and Brooklynn Snodgrass (1:46.54) powered their way to the record for the victory, under the previous meet mark of 6:59.48.<\/p>\n
