{"id":123366,"date":"2015-02-16T09:30:04","date_gmt":"2015-02-16T16:30:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=123366"},"modified":"2015-02-16T09:30:04","modified_gmt":"2015-02-16T16:30:04","slug":"george-bovell-four-time-olympian-train-italy-adn-swim-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/george-bovell-four-time-olympian-train-italy-adn-swim-project\/","title":{"rendered":"George Bovell, Four-Time Olympian, to Train in Italy at ADN Swim Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CASERTA &#8211; George Bovell, four-time Olympian for Trinidad and Tobago, is headed to the ADN Swim Project in the final runup to the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.<\/p>\n<p>Bovell, who won an Olympic bronze medal in the 200-meter IM at the 2004 Athens Olympics, has remained competitive in the sport more than a decade later as he&#8217;s transitioned to a bit more of a sprint schedule. \u00a0In 2013, he won bronze in the 50 free at the Barcelona World Championships.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am very excited and grateful for the opportunity to visit and join some of the best coaches and swimmers in the world as we team up and work towards our common goals of being the best we can be,&#8221; Bovell said. &#8220;I am hoping to learn what works for others and to share what I believe works for me in a unique synergistic environment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bovell will join a growing group of elite swimmers that includes Evgeny Lagunov and Andrey Govorov.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve known George since 2004 and know that ADN and its technical goals represent a point of reference for him,&#8221; ADN CEO Andrea Di Nino said. &#8220;Working with such an inspirational athlete is for us a source of pride and another proof of the good work done during the last 10 years of ADN\u2019s life. I am certain that the spirit and charisma of George Bovell will positively affect the whole group of athletes, carrying another charge of enthusiasm for Kazan 2015\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Bovell has been busy on the FINA World Cup tour recently, but <a title=\"George Bovell, Top-Ranked 100 IMer in the World, Pulls Out of World Short Course Championships\" href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/george-bovell-top-ranked-100-imer-world-pulls-world-short-course-championships\/\" target=\"_blank\">made news towards the end of last year as he elected to withdraw from the Short Course World Championships<\/a> to begin looking for a new training base.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CASERTA &#8211; George Bovell, four-time Olympian for Trinidad and Tobago, is headed to the ADN Swim Project in the final runup to the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
