MUNICH – Michael Phelps, currently serving a six-month suspension\u00a0for a DUI arrest<\/a>, confirmed to German media<\/a> that his first meet back in competition will be the Arena Pro Swim Series stop in Mesa.<\/p>\n

Phelps is in town at the ISPO sporting equipment trade show marketing his new MP\/Michael Phelps line of swimming equipment in conjunction with his new sponsor Aqua Sphere.<\/p>\n

While in town, reporters asked him when he would be back in the water following his suspension, and he stated that he would be headed to the Mesa stop of the Arena series.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve enjoyed, lately, more than I really ever have being back in the water,\u201d Phelps said. \u201cI haven\u2019t had that kind of excitement that I had in a long time. It\u2019s just me feeling I guess like me again. I\u2019m trying to build back a base again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Phelps stated that he’s trying to build back a base again as he moves forward toward the 2016 Rio Olympics.<\/p>\n
