Most teams wrapped up their regular season, and look to train a couple more weeks until the conference meet arrives February 20.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>MARYMOUNT vs. FROSTBURG vs. MARY WASHINGTON<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Saturday saw a tri-meet consisting of Marymount and Frostburg visiting Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Adding some importance for the home team, it was also Mary Washington\u2019s senior meet.<\/p>\n<p>For the women, Mary Washington swept the competition earning 133 points, in front of Marymount\u2019s 48, and Frostburg\u2019s 46. Mary Washington opened up winning the 200 medley relay consisting of Katie Fago, Hannah Hagy, Shannon Coryell, and Steph Hallock, who finished at 1:51.95.<\/p>\n<p>The Eagles never looked back after that race, collecting wins from Maddie Carini in the 1,000 freestyle (11:33.98), as well as the 500 freestyle (5:36.09). Robin Brazier won the 200 IM (2:15.68) and Hannah Hagy won the 100 butterfly (1:02.18). The 200 relay consisted of Taylor Hood, Morgan Alston, Hannah Delsignore and Casey Thomas merely out-touching Mary Washington at 1:44.59.<\/p>\n<p>There was a very similar situation on the men&#8217;s side. Mary Washington swept the competition collecting 128 points, as Marymount took 59 and Frostburg 38.<\/p>\n<p>Another true team win, Alex Anderson took first in the 200 IM (1:51.46), Tyler Gimple took first in the 500 freestyle (4:58.89), Kenyon Huber-Wilker won the 100 breaststroke at 58.69 and the 200 breaststroke at 2:13.67.<\/p>\n<p>The Saints would put up a good fight, winning the 200 medley relay with the squad of Ross Wiley, William Bryan, Robert Klazynski and Tyler Hayes. The Saints also won the 200 freestyle relay with the foursome of Tyler Baldi, William Bryan, Robert Klazynski and Tyler Hayes (1:31.29).<\/p>\n<p>Individually, Thomas Brierly won the 100 backstroke (54.02) as fellow freshmen Ross Wiley took first in the 400 IM (4:39.41). The Bobcats scrapped up some points with freshman Christian March&#8217;s second places in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.48) and the 50 freestyle (22.69).<\/p>\n<p>Sophomore Alek Combs also grabbed second in the 200 butterfly (2:17.41).<\/p>\n<h2><strong>SAINT MARY&#8217;S vs. CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Saint Mary\u2019s battled Catholic University in their season finale and senior meet Saturday. The women would take victory winning 118-87, as the men fell to their out of conference foe 126-70.<\/p>\n<p>Hannah Hafey, Brooke Raab, Cara Machlin and McIlmail would take first in the 400 medley relay (4:07.64). Senior captain, Brooke Raab continued her winning ways grabbing first place in the 200 IM at 2:15.17, as well as the 200 breaststroke at 2:32.43.<\/p>\n<p>Junior Zoe McIlmail also took a couple first places in the 200 freestyle (2:01.10) and 500 freestyle (5:26.02). The senior meet for the lady Seahawkss seemed to be an impressive season-ending glimpse into what\u2019s in store at conference.<\/p>\n<p>The men struggled against The Catholic University of America.<\/p>\n<p>Junior, Michael Speer earned valuable points for the Seahawks earning two second place finishes in the 400 medley relay (3:47.81), 200-yard freestyle (1:52.14), and earning first by anchoring the 400 freestyle relay (3:23.97).<\/p>\n<p>Grant Burgess was stifled in his 1,000 freestyle by Catholic. The junior finished second with a 10:17.78. However, Burgess led the Seahawks to victory in the 400 freestyle relay (3:23.97). Saint Mary\u2019s will finally get back to conference action at CACs after a short hiatus.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Capital Athletic Conference Swimmers of the Week<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Frostburg State freshman Macey Nitchie won CAC swimmer of the week honors.<\/p>\n<p>Nitchie won five of six events in two meets over the weekend. Against Elizabethtown on Friday, Nitchie won the 200-meter freestyle (2:14.02), 50-meter freestyle (28.38), 100-meter freestyle (1:01.80) and anchored the winning 200-meter freestyle relay (2:00.69).<\/p>\n<p>In the Bobcats tri-meet agsint Mary Washington and Marymount on Saturday, Nitchie grabbed a win in the 200 freestyle (1:58.85) and also claimed first in the 100 freestyle (55.48). She shattered her own school record with her 200 free time.<\/p>\n<p>University of Mary Washington senior Alex Anderson won CAC swimmer of the week honors on the men&#8217;s side.<\/p>\n<p>Against Johns Hopkins on Friday, Anderson won the only event the team would win in the 100 butterfly (50.99).
