NEW BRITAIN, Connecticut, October 14. AFTER day one of the Blue Devil Duals, Central Connecticut leads all six of it matches and has established a pool record in the 800 Free Relay. Senior Joanna Bocer, junior Kristen Jurzynski, freshman Kandra Kane and junior Rachel Brookman teamed to establish the pool-best 7:55.56 time in the first 800 Free Relay held in the Jack Suydam Natatorium. As a team, the Blue Devils lead C.W. Post, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Sacred Heart, St. Francis (PA), St. Francis (NY) and Saint Peter's. The first-day diving session will begin at 7 p.m. tonight, while the final day of competition will get underway at 9 a.m. tomorrow. <\/p>\n
In addition to the win in the 800 Free Relay, Central Connecticut posted a victor in the 200 Back. Jurzynski won the event with a 2:07.26 time, topping Wagner's Dana Helyer by more than 10 seconds. Erin Crowley also had a strong individual finish, placing second in the 50 Free. The sophomore came in .18 seconds behing C.W. Post's Mariel Anderson. <\/p>\n
The Blue Devils lead all six duals after the first seven events. They hold a 66.00-55.00 edge over C.W. Post and a 68.50-57.50 advantage over St. Francis-PA while also leading NJIT (100.00-7.00), Sacred Heart (100.00-22.00), Saint Peter's (94.00-19.00) and St. Francis-NY (100.00-16.00). <\/p>\n
The diving results will be calculated in following tonight's one-meter event. <\/p>\n
The duals will resume tomorrow at 9 a.m. The 200 Medley Relay, 400 IM, 200 Free, 100 Breast, 400 Free Relay, three-meter diving, 100 Back, 100 Free, 100 Fly, 1000 Free and 400 Medley Relay will all be held throughout the day. <\/p>\n
