NICE – Camille Lacourt provided one of the top swims of the meet with a sizzler in the men’s 50-meter back, while Iron Lady Katinka Hosszu completed a full slate schedule with two more wins at the Golden Tour in Nice.<\/p>\n

Overall, Hosszu swam a total of 31 times for a grand total of 5,600 meters.<\/p>\n

Lacourt stunned the crowd with a blistering 24.89 in the men’s 50-meter back as he crushed the current world-leading time of 25.21 set by Ryosuke Irie at the BHP Aquatic Super Series in Perth earlier this weekend.<\/p>\n

That’s less than a second off Lacourt’s textile best of 24.07 from 2010 and puts him in a great spot heading into the rest of the season.<\/p>\n

Lacourt pretty much had open water at the finish as he won by more than a second with Christian Diener and Ben Stasiulis tying for second with 25.96s.<\/p>\n

Hosszu collected win number seven this weekend with a 4:07.26 in the women’s 400-meter free. That swim put her third in the world this year behind Katie Ledecky’s other-worldly 4:00.47 and Zhang Yuhan’s 4:06.83.<\/p>\n

Coralie Balmy placed second tonight in 4:09.24 with Charlotte Bonnet earning third in 4:14.65.<\/p>\n

Lara Grangeon topped the women’s 200-meter fly in 2:10.19 with Evelyn Verraszto finishing second in 2:12.32. \u00a0Hosszu earned a bronze with a time of\u00a02:15.30.<\/p>\n

Daryna Zevina snagged the women’s 50-meter back crown in 28.64, moving to sixth in the early world rankings. \u00a0Laura Letrari touched second in 29.33 with Hosszu claiming another bronze with a 29.39.<\/p>\n

Sweden’s Jessica Eriksson won the women’s 50-meter breast in 32.49 with Coralie Dobral taking second in 32.69. \u00a0Solene Gallego placed third in 32.84.<\/p>\n

Hosszu bounced back in the women’s 200-meter IM with her eighth win of the meet. \u00a0She clocked a 2:12.80 in the event, well off her blazing 2:10.36 that leads the world from her Flanders Speedo Cup stop.<\/p>\n

Stina Gardell placed second tonight in 2:15.29 with Evelyn Verraszto earning third in 2:16.68.<\/p>\n

Charlotte Bonnet took home the women’s 100-meter free in 54.96, while Michelle Coleman placed second in 55.18. \u00a0Cloe Hache took third in 55.79.<\/p>\n

Mykhaylo Romanchuk, the 1500 free winner on day one, took the men’s 400-meter free title in 3:50.18. \u00a0Fellow Ukrainian Sergiy Frolov touched second in 3:54.95 with Damien Joly snagging third in 3:55.51.<\/p>\n

David Verraszto touched out Jordan Coelho, 1:59.16 to 1:59.43, in the men’s 200-meter fly in what proved to be a close call. \u00a0Simon Sjodin also had a chance at the title with a third-place 1:59.68.<\/p>\n

Verraszto doubled up with a 2:01.56 to win the men’s 200-meter IM. \u00a0Jeremy Desplanches took second in 2:02.15 with Sjodin claiming third in 2:03.13.<\/p>\n

Hendrik Feldwehr hit the wall in 28.13 to win the men’s 50-meter breast ahead of Giacomo Perez Dortona’s 28.15. \u00a0The two moved to third and fourth in the world rankings with the swims. \u00a0Yevgeny Kurkin tied Yvan Mandalinic for third with 29.09s.<\/p>\n

Jeremy Stravius closed out the meet with a 49.51 to win the men’s 100-meter free. \u00a0Fabien Gilot took second in 50..0 with Andriy Govorov placing third in 50.46.<\/p>\n
