SINGAPORE, October 9. BRITTA Kamrau-Corestein came closer to clinching the overall FINA Marathon World Cup with a win in the penultimate stop of the series on Sunday. Meanwhile, Germany\u2019s Alexander Studzinski grabbed gold on the men\u2019s side of the ticket.<\/p>\n
Kamrau-Corestein added her ninth victory of the series with a 2:08:35 clocking. She downed countrywoman Angela Maurer for the win. Maurer, Kamrau-Corestein\u2019s chief rival for the final series title, placed second in 2:08:47, while Canada\u2019s Karley Stutzel rounded out the top three with a 2:20:07 time.<\/p>\n
Studzinski picked up the men\u2019s gold medal and cash prize with a 2:08:23 time. Meanwhile, Bulgarian Petar Stoychev secured the overall title with a second-place showing of 2:08:24. Although the clocks showed a tie with France\u2019s Stephane Gomez and Russia\u2019s Evgeny Drattsev, judges decided that Stoychev placed second with Gomez and Drattsev following in third and fourth, respectively.<\/p>\n
The Marathon World Cup concludes on Sunday with a meet in Setbual, Portugal.<\/p>\n
