The Wolfpack men swam away with a 201-127 win, while the women were victorious 189-145.<\/p>\n<h2>Minnesota-NC State dual meet (North Carolina State Press Release)<\/h2>\n<p>Through two days of competition, the NC State swimming and diving team defeated Minnesota inside the Casey Aquatic Center Saturday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The No. 8 Wolfpack men defeated the No. 23 Minnesota men 201-127 to retain its perfect record, while the 16th-ranked NC State women earned a 189-145 victory over the 11th-ranked Gopher women.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 14 pool records were set by the Pack in the two days of competition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wolfpack Relays<\/strong><br \/>\nIn both the men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s 200 medley relay events, NC State set two new Casey Aquatic Center pool records. The men&#8217;s team of Andreas Scheillerup, Derek Hren, Soren Dahl and David Williams swam a time of 1:27.97, while the women&#8217;s squad of Alexia Zevnik, Kayla Brumbaum, Ashlyn Koletic and Riki Bonnema recorded a time of 1:40.02.<\/p>\n<p>The Pack also grabbed the second place title in both relay events.<br \/>\nNC State finished the two-day dual off with wins in the men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s 400 free relays as well as two more Casey Aquatic Center pool records.<\/p>\n<p>The quartet of Zevnik, Natalie Labonge, Lotta Nevalinen and Bonnema swam a 3:20.26 to take first place honors in the women&#8217;s event, while the team of Ryan Held, Simonas Bilis, Scheillerup and Williams swam the fastest time in the men&#8217;s heat with a 2:55.39.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Individual Medley<\/strong><br \/>\nChristian McCurdy captured first-place honors in the men&#8217;s 400 IM, as he touched the wall with a 3:52.09.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Freestyle Watch<\/strong><br \/>\nBilis captured the top honor as well as a new Casey pool record in the men&#8217;s 100 free with a time of 43.60, with Held trailing just behind him posting a time of 44.75 to take second place.<\/p>\n<p>Labonge finished second in the women&#8217;s 100 free with a time of 50.19, while Bonnema touched the wall at 51.05 to take third place.<\/p>\n<p>Rachel Muller won the women&#8217;s 500 free with a time of 4:49.56 while Anton Ipsen swam the fastest time in the men&#8217;s event with a 4:32.47.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Back It Up<\/strong><br \/>\nZevnik swam a time 1:56.21 to take first place in the women&#8217;s 200 backstroke and earn a new Casey Aquatic Center pool record. Hannah Freyman finished second in the event with a 2:02.46.<\/p>\n<p>NC State took first, second and third in the men&#8217;s 200 back, as Hennessey Stuart swam a 1:43.56 to take first and claim a new Casey pool record, while Stephen Coetzer and Jacob Siar swam times of 1:47.77 and 1:48.70 to notch the other two honors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Breaststroke<\/strong><br \/>\nBrumbaum and Addisynn Bursch finished second and third in the women&#8217;s 200 breast with times of 2:14.41 and 2:21.30, while McCurdy and Hren swam the second and third fastest times in the men&#8217;s event, touching the wall at 2:01.69 and 2:01.83.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fly Into the Sky<\/strong><br \/>\nKoletic and Krista Duffield finished second and third in the women&#8217;s 100 butterfly with times of 54.67 and 55.23, while Dahl captured first place in the men&#8217;s event with a time of 47.37.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Springboard Action<\/strong><br \/>\nRachel Mumma won the women&#8217;s one-meter competition with a score of 312.60.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wolfpack Improvement<\/strong><br \/>\nNC State recorded 14 new top times for the 2014-15 season. The &#8216;Wolfpack Top Times&#8217; consists of the top five times in a given season for each individual event, and the top three times in relay events.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Up Next<\/strong><br \/>\nNC State will return to action when it hosts UNC-Chapel Hill on Jan. 31 inside the Casey Aquatic Center for its last dual meet of the 2014-15 season. State Wolfpack wrapped up this morning at the Casey Aquatic Center. Both the Gopher men\u2019s and women\u2019s swimming and diving teams fell to N.C. State. The Minnesota men fell to the No. 8 Wolfpack, with a record now at 4-3. The N.C. State women issued the Gophers their first loss of the season, the Minnesota women now hold a record of 6-1.<\/p>\n<p>Day two of competition kicked off with the women\u2019s 200 medley relay. The team of Tori Simenec, Blake Zeiger, Becca Weiland and Danielle Nack placed third with a time of 1:43.22. Minnesota\u2019s \u201cB\u201d relay followed closely behind with a 1:44.74 to pick up fourth.<\/p>\n<p>The Gopher men\u2019s top 200 medley relay team also placed third. Daryl Turner, Conner McHugh, Paul Fair and Ryan Miksch finished with a time of 1:30.81. The team also picked up fifth place with a time of 1:33.57.<\/p>\n<p>Junior Kierra Smith finished first in the women\u2019s 400 IM. Smith had a time of 4:17.81, and was followed by freshman Brooke Zeiger who finished with a time of 4:18.28 for second. Samantha Harding placed fifth with a time of 4:30.07.<\/p>\n<p>Brandon Hatanaka posted a 3:57.01 in the men\u2019s 400 IM for second place. Senior Andrew Hartbarger finished fourth with a time of 3:57.87 and Jakub Maly placed sixth with a 4:02.62.<\/p>\n<p>Lauren Votava sprinted her way to first in the women\u2019s 100 freestyle, finishing with a time of 50.19. Tori Simenec finished fourth with a 51.15 and Abigail Raatz placed sixth with a time of 51.88.<\/p>\n<p>Sophomore Paul Fair placed third in the men\u2019s 100 free with a 45.21. Michael Nunan (46.37) and Ryan Miksch (46.57) finished fifth and sixth respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Jessica Plant placed third in the 200 backstroke, finishing with a time of 2:03.37. Katelyn Holmquist (2:04.19) placed fifth and Maddie Hoch (2:04.35) followed for sixth place.<\/p>\n<p>Senior Carl Newenhouse finished fourth in the men\u2019s 200 backstroke, with a time of 1:49.10. Chris Johnson finished with a time of 1:53.40 for sixth, followed by Jon Thielen for seventh with a 1:55.51.<\/p>\n<p>In the women\u2019s 100 butterfly, senior Becca Weiland placed first with a time of 53.93. Freshman Danielle Nack finished with a time of 55.46 for fourth, and Alli Schumacher for seventh (56.71).<\/p>\n<p>Sophomore Daryl Turner placed second in the men\u2019s 100 fly with a time of 47.88. Nick Orf (50.02) and Viktor Bjoerk (51.57) placed fifth and sixth respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Senior Kiera Janzen placed second in the women\u2019s 500 free, finishing with a time of 4:52.38. Freshmen Brooke Lorentzen (4:54.62) and Brooke Zeiger (4:54.81) followed for third and fourth.<\/p>\n<p>The N.C. State men\u2019s team opted to switch their athletes to exhibition during the men\u2019s 500 freestyle. CJ Smith posted the top Gopher time with a 4:26.75. Logan Redondo finished with a 4:34.19, followed by Michael Nunan with a 4:37.64.<\/p>\n<p>Kierra Smith posted a 2:10.41 in the women\u2019s 200 breaststroke for first place. Blake Zeiger (2:22.66) and Rae Bullinger (2:23.02) placed sixth and seventh.<\/p>\n<p>Conner McHugh placed first in the men\u2019s 200 breast with a time of 2:01.55. Spencer Mattox finished with a 2:04.95 and Eric Sande finished with a time of 2:07.77.<\/p>\n<p>Yu Zhou collected 307.95 points on the women\u2019s one-meter. Lexi Tenenbaum (304.05) and Jessica Ramberg (298.72) followed for third and fourth.<\/p>\n<p>Dylan Zoe racked up 394.80 points on the men\u2019s three-meter for third place. Matt Barnard took second with 389.92 points, and Manny Pollard took third with a score of 338.25.<\/p>\n<p>Becca Weiland, Lauren Votava, Tori Simenec and Jessica Plant finished second in the 400 free relay, finishing with a time of 3:21.39.<\/p>\n<p>The relay team of Daryl Turner, Paul Fair, Ryan Miksch and Michael Nunan put up a top time of 3:01.09 in the men\u2019s 400 free relay to end the two-day dual.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MARK YOUR CALENDARS<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Gophers will host a B1G Triple Dual against Purdue and Northwestern at the Jean Freeman Aquatic Center in a two day competition
