In this class there is talent, leadership, and willingness to work in both the pool and classroom. I have to commend our recruiting coordinator, (assistant coach) Dave Joyce, and our current Panthers for showing all the recruits that made visits what are team, school and city can offer.”

Blome comes to Milwaukee from Macomb Senior High School. The senior is ranked 29th in the state of Illinois according to collegeswimming.com, and has been a standout swimmer the past three years. Blome already holds a pair of school records – which he broke in just his first ever meet with the Bombers.

“We are honored to call Anthony a Panther,” Clements said. “From a coaching standpoint, I cannot wait to get my hands on him. I am really looking forward to seeing what this young man can do in practice and competition. When I first meet Anthony, I thought he looked like a sprinter. He is tall, strong, and athletic, which is normally a great combination for those shorter events. Then we started to go through his events and really found how versatile this young man can be. He has an aerobic aspect to him that, when you combine it with his physical attributes, it sure to make him a valuable swimmer for our program.”

Hoenshel earned a state title as a junior last year in the 400 freestyle relay. Now a senior at Klein High School, Hoenshel will look to help the Bearkats improve on their third-place finish at the state meet last year. The mid-distance freestyler is already ranked 50th in the state of Texas and should improve on his already impressive times in his senior season.

“Eli is such a tremendous addition to our program,” Clements said. “He is that fastest 500 swimmer that this program has ever signed out of high school. He is also one that we know is faster than what his current times are. His athletic abilities have us really optimistic, but his inherent qualities are the ones that have us extremely excited. After Eli left from his official visit, I really felt like I just met a future record holder and a future team captain.”

Huerta just wrapped up his senior season at Basha High School, where he was a three-time all-district honoree. He was a multi-year captain and qualified for four events at the Arizona state meet his senior year.

“Adriel is a big pick up for the men,” Clements said. “He is an outstanding student-athlete that makes us better in a lot of different events. Adding somebody like Adriel to this roster not only adds another great swimmer, but allows us to move others into different events making, us a more versatile and a better team. Adriel will be one of those freshmen that we will rely and lean on, and he will give himself a lot of opportunities to score points throughout the year.”

Kishpaugh comes to Milwaukee from Sarasota, Fla. Although being homeschooled, Kishpaugh competed for Riverview High School and helped them to a state title this past fall, taking fifth in the 200 IM and also competing in the 100 butterfly.

“We are really looking forward to working with Zach,” Clements said. “He has a number of different attributes and abilities that coaches like myself can’t wait to get our hands on. He can swim multiple events and all his events have been trending in the right direction. We really feel that this young man is going to develop into a perennial scorer in the Horizon League.”

Kordik recently wrapped up her high school career with a bronze medal in the 100 breaststroke at the Illinois state meet. Ranked 20th in the state of Illinois, Kordik swam primarily sprint free and breaststroke events in high school, with her lifetime best in the 50 free already close to a school record.

“We are excited as a program to have Jenn joining our roster,” Clements said. “She is such a talented swimmer and a wonderful person. I got to meet Jenn a couple times over the summer and every time that I saw her, she radiated the competitive nature and desire to contribute to a program. These are qualities that we really look for and I knew that we would be lucky to have her on our roster. She will be an outstanding teammate and individual scorer for our program for years to come.”

Kudis is one of the best swimmers in the state of Wisconsin. Ranked 14th in the state, she qualified for the state meet four times in her first two years with Waukesha North/Kettle Moraine combined before focusing primarily with her club team of Schroeder YMCA. She has been a standout while at Schroeder, qualifying for the YMCA Nationals four times.

“Danielle was our latest commitment and one that the staff was really looking forward to,” Clements said. “Getting a commitment from Danielle proves that we as a program are dedicated to be the best that we can be. Danielle is an extremely hard worker and she is getting faster every time she swims. Her name is one that you will hear at our swim meets, read about in our press releases, and see up on our record board next year.”

Menninga is the second in his family to join the Black & Gold. The younger brother of Nick Menninga, Ryan is in the middle of his senior season with powerhouse Madison Memorial. He has helped the Spartans to three-straight state championships, earning a gold medal at last year’s state meet in the 200 free relay.

“You might recognize the last name. Ryan is the second Menninga to join the Panthers in the last two years,” Clements said. “He might share a last name with his older brother, Nick, but we believe that it will not take long for this young man to make a name for himself. Once Ryan is able to put a full season together, we know that he will turn some heads. I cannot wait to see what he is going to do with coach Paul this high school season at Memorial.”

Skogman comes from Wisconsin’s other powerhouse in Waukesha South. The senior, who is ranked 19th in the state of Wisconsin, helped Cardinal to three-straight state crowns as a 12-time state qualifier during her four-year high school career.

“We have signed a terrific young lady and perennial Horizon League scorer in Addison,” Clements said. “She comes from a great high school and club background that has prepared her to not only swim, but to compete in multiple events. She will be invaluable in our constant pursuit to win league titles. Her hard work both in the pool and classroom will make us a better team.”

Thomas is a three-time state qualifier and two-time finalist in diving. Following in the footsteps of current Panther standout Rachel Margis, Thomas recently broke Margis’ school records at Racine Park High School during a standout senior season and figures to make an early splash next fall.

“Carley comes to Milwaukee with a wealth of diving experience at both high school and club level diving,” head Milwaukee diving coach Todd Hill said. “Having finished sixth in the Wisconsin division 1 state meet and coming from an excellent club diving program, we expect Carley to have an immediate impact. We are very excited to have Carley be a Panther diver next season.”

The above article is a press release submitted to Swimming World.
