{"id":120549,"date":"2015-01-20T16:00:36","date_gmt":"2015-01-20T23:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=120549"},"modified":"2015-12-22T10:35:26","modified_gmt":"2015-12-22T17:35:26","slug":"swimming-world-magazine-goes-bi-weekly-online-edition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/swimming-world-magazine-goes-bi-weekly-online-edition\/","title":{"rendered":"Swimming World Magazine Goes Biweekly With Online Edition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX &#8211; <em>Swimming World Magazine<\/em> introduces its biweekly magazine dedicated to news and stories that have appeared on its website throughout\u00a0the past two weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The biweekly magazine will be offered free to all readers, but will eventually be included in a <a title=\"Total Access\" href=\"http:\/\/swimshop.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/p\/813\/swimming-world-magazine-subscriptions\" target=\"_blank\">Total Access Subscription<\/a> beginning the second quarter of 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Brent Rutemiller, publisher of <em>Swimming World Magazine,<\/em> first <a title=\"Brent Rutemiler\" href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/swimming-world-ceo-brent-rutemillers-emotional-speech-in-accepting-asca-media-award-video\/\" target=\"_blank\">announced this upgrade<\/a> at the ASCA World Clinic in September of 2014.<\/p>\n<div class=\"issuuembed\" style=\"width: 650px; height: 414px;\" data-configid=\"1619675\/11040245\"><\/div>\n<p><script src=\"\/\/e.issuu.com\/embed.js\" async=\"true\"><\/script><br \/>\n\u201cInternet news is fleeting. We post more than\u00a050 stories a week. Sometimes, we post close to 150 stories every two weeks. People just can\u2019t keep up with it all and often either miss the news or have to go back and search for it. <em><a title=\"Bi-Weekly\" href=\"http:\/\/issuu.com\/swimmingworld\/docs\/sww_2015_01_20?e=1619675\/11040245\" target=\"_blank\">Swimming World Biweekly<\/a><\/em> is designed to aggregate the top internet stories into a magazine format allowing people to catch up on important news stories every two weeks,&#8221; Rutemiller said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople love to be connected to their mobile devices 24\/7. But the day will come, and I think it will be soon, where people don\u2019t want to be connected all the time. <em>Swimming World Biweekly<\/em> is poised to bring them the top stories that they may have missed every two weeks.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em>Swimming World Biweekly<\/em> was designed by Joe Johnson, <em>Swimming World<\/em>\u2019s newest graphic artist. The first issue goes a little deeper into content with a look back at U.S. Senior and Junior Nationals in December. It is a good mix of news, features, commentary and the omnipresent \u201clisticle.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are getting our\u00a0feet wet with this issue,&#8221; Johnson said. &#8220;As we move forward, we fully expect the magazine to expand in pages with each issue. We also expect to learn more about what remains newsworthy two weeks after it is posted. The entire process is meant to keep news alive, but more importantly allow us to bring news to our readers instead of having to search for it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The monthly print version of <em>Swimming World Magazine<\/em> will continue to provide unique content centered on features, analysis, training, technique, nutrition, commentary and perspectives.<\/p>\n<p>Now, with the addition of 24 biweekly editions to the 12 monthly print editions, a\u00a0version of <em>Swimming World Magazine<\/em> can now be read 36 times a year.
