FINA presented its 16th stop in the FINA Marathon Swimming World Cup on Sunday in Shantou, China.  The 10k competition took place along the Xin Jin River.<\/p>\n<p>In the men\u2019s race, German Alexander Studzinski claimed his first FINA victory in front of newcomer Brian Ryckman of Belgium. Egyptian Mohamed El Zanaty, second in the general standings, finished third in front of his main opponent France\u2019s St\u00e9phane Gomez. The No. 1 marathon swimmer, winner of the World Cup since 2001, Bulgarian Petar Stoychev placed eighth, but is in a comfortable position to win a sixth consecutive Trophy with three more races to go.<\/p>\n<p>In the women\u2019s race, Germany\u2019s Britta Kamrau-Corestein added a seventh victory to her 2006 achievements. Her teammate, Angela Maurer, finished second to keep her in the hunt for the 2006 World Cup. Local Chinese swimmer Jing Zheng rounded out the podium with a third-place effort.<\/p>\n<p>Medalists were the only results available at press time.<br \/>\nMen: 1.
