overtake favorite Katinka Hosszu down the stretch for the 400-meter IM win.<\/p>\n<p>Beisel hit the wall in 4:36.71 for the win, which would have placed her just outside the top 10 in the world last year. \u00a0She finished last year with a fourth-ranked season best of 4:31.99 at Pan Pacs.<\/p>\n<p>California&#8217;s Caitlin Leverenz, just more than a week out from getting married, checked in with a silver-winning time of 4:38.35 as she also had a strong breaststroke leg.<\/p>\n<p>Hosszu, who initially led throughout the front half, fell apart in the breaststroke leg and couldn&#8217;t Prenot&#8217;s dominant breaststroke told the tale in the men&#8217;s 400-meter IM.<\/p>\n<p>Prenot threw down a 35.81 split to gain his second victory of the meet with a 4:16.08 after taking down the 200-meter breast last night. \u00a0That&#8217;s Prenot&#8217;s best in-season time ever, clearing his previous top time of 4:18.32 from the Mare Nostrum series last summer.<\/p>\n<p>SwimMAC&#8217;s Tyler Clary and Ryan Lochte rounded out the top three as Clary turned in a 4:16.28 to finish just behind Prenot.<\/p>\n<p>Lochte, however, claimed third\u00a0in 4:18.68 with NCAP 18-year-old Andrew Bick<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In one of the most exciting races of the meet so far, Oakville&#8217;s Dominique Bouchard used her patented closing speed to overtake a loaded field in the women&#8217;s 200-meter back.<\/p>\n<p>Bouchard hit the wall in 2:10.02 as she clipped Bluefish&#8217;s Elizabeth Beisel. Beisel powered her way to second in 2:10.09 as she needed to put up some huge speed in the final 50 meters.
