For all the latest coverage, check out our <a title=\"Arena Pro Swim Series Austin\" href=\"http:\/\/tv.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/events\/2015-arena-pro-swim-series-austin\" target=\"_blank\">event coverage page<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>AUSTIN &#8211; Texas&#8217; Jack Conger blew by 52 seconds in the 100 fly now that he&#8217;s not doing the 500-yard free anymore.<\/p>\n<p>Conger talked with Swimming World after the race to explain how his breathing pattern has changed, and also how he potentially plans on tackling the NCAA season.<\/p>\n<h2>Jack Conger Breaks 52 For First Time<\/h2>\n<div class=\"oembed-wrap\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Texas&#039; Jack Conger\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QOtCi-gKNQI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><strong>100 fly<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Texas\u2019 Jack Conger crushed the 52-second barrier for the first time in the men\u2019s 100-meter fly as he blasted the field with a sizzling time of 51.64.<\/p>\n<p>That swim decimated his previous lifetime best of 52.51 from the 2013 World University Games, and would have ranked him eighth in the world last year. That\u2019s still fifth among Americans in 2014, but getting into the 51-second range puts Conger in the discussion going forward.<\/p>\n<p>Texas\u2019 Tripp Cooper finished second overall with a time of 52.91, while NCAP\u2019s Andrew Seliskar touched third with a time of 53.20.<\/p>\n<p>SwimMAC\u2019s Ryan Lochte picked up fourth place overall with a time of 53.23.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Arena Pro Swim Series editorial coverage is proudly sponsored by Arena USA.
