THE Chinese owned the day during the final round of competition at the 2006 FINA World Junior Diving Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, while the host country picked up its second medal of the meet on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p><b>Boys A&#038;B Synchronized Three-Meter<\/b><br \/>\nChina picked up the gold in the boys\u2019 A&#038;B synchronized three-meter event as Wang Yong and Lin Jin out-dueled Russia\u2019s Artem Lvov and Alexander Gorshkov.  <\/p>\n<p>After tying the Russian duo during the initial round of dives with a 50.40, the Chinese took a five-point lead after the second round and did just enough to hold off the Russian\u2019s late charge at the title.  Yong and Jin wound up with 321.00 points to top the silver-winning tally of 319.38 posted by Lvov and Gorshkov.<\/p>\n<p>Germany\u2019s pair of Christian Picker and Patrick Hausding garnered bronze with 282.30 points.<\/p>\n<p>The gold medal stood as Yong\u2019s third gold medal of the event, while Jin picked up his second medal of the meet.<\/p>\n<p><a href=http:\/\/65.110.72.225\/SPIPDF\/2006_FINA_Jr_World_boyssynchroab.pdf target=_blank>Click Here to view event results PDF file<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Girls A&#038;B Synchronized Three-Meter<\/b><br \/>\nChina swept the synchronized events as He Zi and Jia Dongjin put up a big enough advantage to hold off Ukrainians Mariya Voloschenko and Anna Pysmenska.  The Ukraine duo nearly pulled off the upset with a monster 68.04-point dive in the final round, but could not overcome the 14-point gap as Zi and Dongjin won gold with 276.00 points.<\/p>\n<p>The Ukrainians, meanwhile, took silver with 270.24 points.  The British tandem of Jodie McGroarty and Claire Blencowe rounded out the podium with 257.37 points.<\/p>\n<p>Dongjin claimed her third medal of the meet, and her second of a gold variety, while Zi pocketed her second medal of the competition.<\/p>\n<p><a href=http:\/\/65.110.72.225\/SPIPDF\/2006_FINA_Jr_World_girlssynchroab.pdf target=_blank>Click Here to view event results PDF file<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Boys A Platform<\/b><br \/>\nChina continued its outstanding final day of competition with a top-two sweep as Qin Tian and Gong Peng claimed gold and silver, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Even though Pong posted a higher finals tally with 320.80 points against Tian\u2019s 307.05 points, Tian put up too much of an advantage with 295.05 carry-over points.  Pong, on the other hand, recorded 253.85 carry-over points.<\/p>\n<p>Malaysia earned its second medal of the meet as Bryan Nickson captured bronze with 536.50 points with 247.90 carry-over points and 288.60 in finals.<\/p>\n<p><a href=http:\/\/65.110.72.225\/SPIPDF\/2006_FINA_Jr_World_boys10ma.pdf target=_blank>Click Here to view event results PDF file<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Boys B Three-Meter<\/b><br \/>\nChina swept the day with gold in the boys\u2019 B three-meter event as Wang Jiankai dominated the contest with 499.55 overall points.  Jiankai went into finals with 228.45 carry-over points, trailing American Kristian Ipsen (244.05) by nearly 20 points.  <\/p>\n<p>Jiankai, however, compiled 271.10 points in finals for gold.
