THREE more events went down in the record books at the FINA World Junior Diving Championships on Thursday as winners claimed their prize in the boys\u2019 A one-meter, Girls\u2019 B three-meter and boys\u2019 B platform events.<\/p>\n<p><b>Boys A One-Meter<\/b><br \/>\nChina went one-three in the boys\u2019 A one-meter springboard event as Wang Yong captured his second individual gold of the meet in a nail-biting triumph over Ukrainian Illya Kvasha.  Yong, trailing Kvasha by nearly four points with prelim carry-over points, made up the difference at night to capture a three-point victory.<\/p>\n<p>Both Yong (202.10) and Kvasha (205.35) had to cut the gap as China\u2019s Lin Jin (207.05) posted the top prelim carry-over points of the event.  Yong, however, put together a 330.80 at night to win the first crown of the night with a 532.90.  Kvasha picked up his second silver, both losses to Yong, with 324.65 final points for a 530.00 total.  Meanwhile, Jin garnered bronze with 520.75 points after recording 313.70 points during finals.<\/p>\n<p><a href=http:\/\/65.110.72.225\/SPIPDF\/2006_FINA_Jr_World_boys1m.pdf target=_blank>Click Here to view event results PDF file<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Girls B Three-Meter<\/b><br \/>\nJapan\u2019s Risa Asada earned her country\u2019s first gold of the competition with a comeback win in the girls\u2019 B three-meter contest.  After standing firmly behind China\u2019s Wang Xin (213.35) and Liu Herui (219.50) in prelim carry-over points, Asada had to make up the different with an incredible string of dives at night.  She did just that.  Overall, she registered 176.70 points at night to add to her 209.90 carry-over points for a winning-total of 386.60 points.<\/p>\n<p>Xin, for the second night in a row, had to settle for silver as she tallied 167.05 points during finals for a second-place 380.40 total.  Meanwhile, Canada\u2019s Jennifer Abel came all the way back from seventh place in prelim carry-over points with a 196.95 to notch a 168.00 at night for a bronze-winning 364.95 total.<\/p>\n<p><a href=http:\/\/65.110.72.225\/SPIPDF\/2006_FINA_Jr_World_girls3m.pdf target=_blank>Click Here to view event results PDF file<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Boys B Platform<\/b><br \/>\nChina swept the top-two spots in the boys platform event as Li Junbai completely dominated the rest of the field with 534.55 points, while Li Teng earned silver with a 510.45.  Ukraine\u2019s Oleksandr Gorshkovozov compiled a 452.25 tally for bronze.<\/p>\n<p>While Junbai may have trailed Gorshkovozov in carry-over points with 182.45 against the Ukrainian\u2019s 185.15, Junbai stepped up his game in finals with an amazing 352.10.
