PHOENIX \u2013 Every week over the next few months, Swimming World Magazine<\/em> will feature a camp specializing in teaching swimmers how to improve their technique, swim faster and have fun with some of the biggest names in swimming. Motivation is the part of every package! Programs may include day and overnight camps as well as distance and stroke specialization. This week we feature the Bolles School Swim Camps<\/a> in Jacksonville, Florida.<\/p>\n

Bolles School Swim Camp<\/h2>\n

The Bolles School has a very rich history of developing some of the most successful swimmers in history. Many have won Olympic gold medals or NCAA titles, with more collecting medals at major international competitions such as the world championships and Commonwealth Games. The team won the 2008 and 2009 team titles at the junior national championships and recently celebrated gold medals at the Asian Games from recent graduate Joseph Schooling.<\/p>\n

Campers will live, swim and learn from the top-notch staff at the Bolles School, and will stay in the campus dormitories close to the St. John’s River. The coaches are among the best in the world, and have extensive competitive swimming backgrounds. Not only will you learn more about yourself as a swimmer, but you’ll broaden your horizons as you meet fellow swimmers from all over the world!<\/p>\n

Bolles runs two one-week camps for age group swimmers each summer, and a special elite camp for those who qualify. The one-week camps will be held June 7-12 and June 14-19 (Sunday through Friday). The elite camp begins June 7 and athletes can choose to stay for one week, or remain with the team through July 25, training daily with some of the top swimmers on the team.<\/p>\n

Video analysis and private coaching sessions are available for an extra fee.<\/p>\n

Age Group Camp information:<\/b>
\nAthletes aged 9 to 13 years old are eligible for this camp. The morning workouts will be done according to age and ability, with the average practice ranging from 2,500 to 5,000 meters. The evening workout, lasting 90 minutes, will emphasis technique work and will range from 1,500 yards to 1,700 yards. Each morning will consist of a dryland session featuring body-weight exercises, running and abdominal work. Campers will also attend lectures and watch videos of stroke mechanics.<\/p>\n

Elite Camp information:<\/b>
\nAthletes aged 13 to 18 years old can participate in this high-level camp. Each workout for elite campers will be conducted with members of the Bolles School Sharks. Workouts will range from 6,500 to 8,500 meters, with 11 practices each week. An additional 45 minutes of dryland training will take place each day.<\/p>\n

BOLLES SCHOOL SWIMMING CAMPS 2015<\/strong>
\nCost for age-group camp:
\n$825.00 per camper per week includes a $150 deposit to reserve spot on the list. The remaining amount is due one week prior to camper’s arrival.<\/p>\n

Cost for elite camp:
\n$100 application fee, plus $750 per week. Application fee is paid only once, regardless of how many weeks the camper participates in the elite camp.<\/p>\n
