KEENE – While some schools have already taken their annual holiday training trips, NEISDA swimming teams will be heading south right before the New Year. But before the bags are packed (suits and goggles in your carry-on of course) and the flights take off, NEISDA swimmers spent a week or so at home, training with club teams, teammates and old friends.<\/p>\n

Most swimmers go home for winter break and have to swim by themselves during open swim hours when they muster up the willpower to hop into the cold pool by themselves. However, this winter, NEISDA swimmers not only teamed up with other swimmers in the conference, but some even practiced with swimmers in other New England conferences as well.<\/p>\n

Not only does training with a friend make the process of training while on \u201cbreak\u201d easier, but it allows you to push yourself a little bit harder, swim a couple of extra yards, do an extra ab set, and probably have a lot more fun. There is no reason why swimming has to be boring or stressful, which is why NEISDA swimmers grabbed a friend, hopped in the pool, and set out for success in 2015.<\/p>\n

Next week, NEISDA swimmers and divers will come back to their respective campuses and head off to different tropical locations. It always seems as though the season moves quicker after December, but there is still time to make significant improvements in training and competition.
