HAMBURG, Germany, Aug. 12. IF live results can be believed, Roland Schoeman became the first man to break the 21-second barrier in the 50-meter freestyle semifinals at the Deutscher Ring Aquatics competition taking place Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n

During the semifinal, Schoeman posted a jaw-dropping 20.98 to obliterate the 21.10 recorded by Fred Bousquet in 2004. The heat proved to be extremely fast, as Lyndon Ferns ripped off a 21.28 that nearly beat Bousquet\u2019s record as well.<\/p>\n
