ANYKSCIAI – Olympic gold medalist Ruta Meilutyte had a strong meet at the Lithuanian Short Course Championships in\u00a0Anyksciai, including a Lithuanian record.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meilutyte kicked off the meet with a win in the 100-meter free as she clocked a 53.91. That fell just short of her national record of 53.54 from 2012, but blasted the meet record of 56.28 set by Jurate Scerbinskaite.<\/p>\n

Meilutyte followed that up with a winning time of 29.47 in the women’s 50-meter breast. \u00a0She didn’t need her world-leading speed of 28.81 from Worlds for the win this week.<\/p>\n

Meilutyte’s third gold medal of the meet came by way of the women’s 50-meter free as she clocked a 25.07. \u00a0That’s just a bit off her national record of 24.95 set here in 2013.<\/p>\n

Meilutyte came home with a fourth gold medal by smoking the meet record in the women’s 100-meter breast. \u00a0She clocked a sizzling time of 1:02.88, one of just a handful of 1:02s this year owned by she (1:02.43) and Alia Atkinson (1:02.36). \u00a0That time blasted the meet record of 1:09.08 set by Erika Bespalko in 2009.<\/p>\n

For good measure, Meilutyte claimed her fifth gold with a Lithuanian record in the women’s 50-meter fly. \u00a0She clocked a 26.62 to clear her 2013 record of 26.85.<\/p>\n

Danas Rapsys undercut the Lithuanian record in the men’s 200-meter free\u00a0with a 1:44.19. \u00a0That’s lower than the 1:45.08 set by Saulius Binevicius back in 2003.<\/p>\n

Rapsys doubled up with a 1:55.35 to win the men’s 200-meter back. That was enough to clear his meet record of 1:55.56 from 2012.<\/p>\n

Rapsys also topped the men’s 200-meter fly in 1:55.19 for a Lithuanian record, then claimed a fourth gold medal with a 51.92 in the men’s 100-meter fly. \u00a0That just missed the 2009 national record of 51.81 set by Vytautas Janusaitis.<\/p>\n

Giedrius Titenis topped the men’s 100-meter breast in 58.25 to lower his 2013 meet mark of 58.64. \u00a0He just missed his 2009 national record of 58.03.<\/p>\n

Titenis claimed his second title of the meet with a 2:08.55 in the men’s 200-meter breast, a bit off his meet record of 2:07.98.<\/p>\n

Titenis closed out a breaststroke sweep with a 27.07 in the men’s 50-meter breast. \u00a0That just missed his national record of 26.91.<\/p>\n

Jurate Scerbinskaite hit the wall in 8:45.99 to win the women’s 800-meter free, while also capturing the women’s 400-meter free in 4:15.79. \u00a0Scerbinskaite kept on winning on the final day with a 2:02.03 in the women’s 200-meter free.<\/p>\n

Ugne Mazutaityte topped the women’s 100-meter back in 1:02.35. She returned in the women’s 200-meter back with a 2:12.52 for the win. \u00a0Mazutaityte then swept the backstroke events with a 29.23 in the women’s 50-meter back on the final day.<\/p>\n

Grantas Dapkus claimed the men’s 400-meter IM in 4:34.80, while also winning the men’s 1500-meter free in 15:54.60, while Gytis Stankevicius snared the men’s 50-meter back title in 25.35, then clocked a 53.62 to win the men’s 100-meter back.<\/p>\n

Povilas Strazdas clocked a 55.03 to win the men’s 100-meter IM, while also winning the men’s 200-meter IM in 1:59.49, while Mindaugas Sadauskas posted a 49.04 to win the men’s 100-meter free, and swept the sprint freestyles with a 22.42 to win the men’s 50-meter free.<\/p>\n

Tadas Duskinas just missed his national record of 23.28 with a 23.59 to win the men’s 50-meter fly, while Jonas Zakarauskas claimed the men’s 400-meter free in 3:58.03.<\/p>\n

Alina Taran won the women’s 200-meter fly in 2:28.76, while Erika Martisiute picked up the womens’ 400-meter IM title in 5:01.35.<\/p>\n

Raminta Dvariskyte turned in a 2:28.45 to win the women’s 200-meter breast, while Giedre Grigonyte topped the women’s 100-meter fly in 1:02.87.<\/p>\n

Agne Sorakaite hit the wall in 1:05.21 for the women’s 100-meter IM victory, while Vikte Labanauskaite touched in 2:20.86 for the women’s 200-meter IM title.<\/p>\n
