{"id":117376,"date":"2014-12-12T19:12:37","date_gmt":"2014-12-13T02:12:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=117376"},"modified":"2015-08-24T08:06:06","modified_gmt":"2015-08-24T15:06:06","slug":"ryan-hoffer-claims-100-fly-15-16-national-age-group-mark","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ryan-hoffer-claims-100-fly-15-16-national-age-group-mark\/","title":{"rendered":"Ryan Hoffer Claims 100 Fly 15-16 National Age Group Mark"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FEDERAL WAY &#8211;\u00a0Scottsdale\u2019s Ryan Hoffer had enough speed to take down his second 15-16 U.S. National Age Group record of the meet as he powered to victory in the 100 fly at the Speedo Winter Junior Nationals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #53565a;\">Hoffer smoked the field in the 100 fly with a time of 46.42 (21.70, 24.72) en route to not only setting a meet record but also the NAG.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #53565a;\">That time beat Joseph Schooling\u2019s meet record of 46.70 set for Bolles in 2012. \u00a0It also surpassed the 46.99 set by Alex Valente earlier this year as the 15-16 NAG.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #53565a;\">Yesterday,\u00a0<a style=\"color: #5f93ce;\" title=\"Ryan Hoffer Does It Again! Downs 15-16 50 Free NAG at Juniors\" href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ryan-hoffer-downs-15-16-50-free-nag-juniors\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hoffer lowered the 50 free NAG twice<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #53565a;\">Michael Andrew, the 15-year-old pro, took second in 47.38, while Upper Dublin\u2019s Michael Jensen rounded out the podium with a third-place 47.45.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #53565a;\">Upper Dublin\u2019s Michael Thomas (47.70), Nitro\u2019s Mason Tenney (47.97), Azura Florida\u2019s Mateo Gonzalez (48.07), KING\u2019s Mathias Oh (48.07) and College Area\u2019s Micah Ornelas (48.70) also vied for the junior national title.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #53565a;\">Bolles\u2019 Javier Barrena touched out Matthew Grauslys, 48.20 to 48.23, in the B final for the win.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #53565a;\">Anthony Kim (48.64), Liam McCloskey (48.77), Michael Taylor (48.93), Thomas Anderson (48.99), Rio Kurihara (49.17) and Erik Juliusson (49.95) rounded out the consolation field.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #53565a;\">Colten Montgomery took home the C final in a time of 48.35 with Walnut Creek teammates Grant Watson and Mason Tittle tying for second with matching 48.60s.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #53565a;\">Chris Staka (48.96), Matthew Thomas (49.01), Derek Cox (49.24), Noah Hensley (49.45) and Gabi Sasia (49.54) closed out the bonus
