COLLEGE PARK – Reece Whitley got today’s prelims session at the Speedo Tom Dolan Invitational off to a thrilling start, breaking the 13-14 national age group record in the 100-yard breaststroke<\/a>. <\/p>\n

In this interview from the University of Maryland pool, Whitley said he planned to put together a fast swim before falling asleep last night, but didn’t expect to break 54 seconds. He talked about his stroke count per 25 yards and how the rest felt compared to previous swims. He also talks about his full plate of events on Friday, including the finals of the 100 fly and 400 IM, and how he trains for it at Penn Charter Aquatic Club.<\/p>\n
