She came up just shy of knocking down Wu Yanyan&#39;s drug-tainted world record of 2:09.72 set in 1997 with a meet-record time of 2:10.05.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;I&#39;m so excited to have gotten a best time,&quot; Hoff said. &quot;Pan Pacs is going to be even better.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Tucson Ford&#39;s Whitney Myers pocketed silver in 2:12.06, while Club Wolverine&#39;s Kaitlin Sandeno earned bronze in 2:13.86.<\/p>\n<p>At the 50-meter mark, Hoff went under the world-record pace by .30 seconds with a 28.51.  She was .03 seconds off that pace with a 1:01.88 at the 100-meter mark.  At the 150-meter mark, Hoff remained under world-record pace with a 1:39.49.<\/p>\n<p>In the consolation heat, Germantown Academy\u2019s Teresa Crippen went out the fastest with a 1:03.15 at the 100-meter mark. Club Wolverine\u2019s Kathleen Carroll, however, had a different plan as she came out of nowhere to rocket to first in 2:16.07 from lane one.  Meanwhile, Aquazot\u2019s Kristen Caverly finished second in 2:16.54, while Bulldog Aquatics\u2019 Ava Ohlgren grabbed third in 2:16.57.<\/p>\n<p>In the bonus consolation heat, Greenwood Tiger Shark Caitlin Iverson led at the halfway mark in 1:04.01, but Swim Atlanta\u2019s Kathleen Hersey tracked her down to win in 2:17.80.
